Wow. I wonder what that would do to the good bacteria in your gut?

Good question! I don't know, but precautions would certainly be recommended.

ADEP looks to open up bacterial "pores"

Picture, simple one, here:

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022283613005081

The researchers are impacting a *bacterial protease* (breaks down proteins) called ClpP.

"The antibiotic ADEP reprogrammes ClpP, switching it from a regulated to

an ***uncontrolled protease.*** "

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20049702

I get it:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24119566

Targeting destruction of the pathogen like it is triggering OUR mitophagy (mitochondria autophagy = "self eating"/self destruction of OUR mitochondria).

***Okay, but what happens if that new antibiotic impacts

E.Coli's

ClpP? ***

Another case of one antibiotic on top of others messing with our

normal bowel flora?

How important are E. coli?

The harmless strains are part of the normal flora of the gut, and can benefit their hosts by

producing ***vitamin K2,***

and preventing colonization of the intestine with pathogenic bacteria.

Vitamin K2 (NOT K) is very important.

First do no harm. How to DIRECTLY target Bb and NOT our beneficial bacteria?

OR...should we instead focus on HELPING OUT OUR OWN INFECTED, DNA damaged, mitochondrial dysfunctioning DEFENSE CELLS?

This goes much deeper than ClpP:

http://www.plospathogens.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.ppat.1000676

***ADEP appears to initiate ClpP to preferably degrade FtsZ, an important bacterial protein involved in septum formation that is necessary for

bacterial cell division.

It is interesting to note that L-form bacteria that lack a cell wall

***do not require FtsZ for division,***

which implies that bacteria may have retained components of an ancestral mode of cell division.***

Wiki.

***Bb may react to that new abx. by transforming into its spheroplast fully viable L-form.***

Dive...dive...dive...(for cover).

Not good.

Has anyone tried it? Are Lyme doctors prescribing it?
