Hello again everyone,

So I've almost been treating a full year now. Went off abx for a week and went back on had no change in symptoms at all no better no worse.

As far as symptoms go all I have left is:

Random dizzy spells

Anxiety/irritability/knot in my chest that comes and goes but mostly stays/shakiness

Cognitive issues that come and go.

I'm starting to think I have adrenal fatigue does this sound like it?

I took a adrenal support supplement by Gaia herbs and it made me feel like I was going to die. Was lethargic and had the worst migraine of my life.

I also got my adrenals test a few months back and I have low cortisol in the morning and high at night. I plan on getting them retested in a few weeks.

I am seeing a LLMD and a ND who both agree that I have adrenal fatigue. The ND tells me that my adrenal fatigue is now a bigger factor in my illness than the Lyme. Since I began treatment 5 weeks ago for the AF I feel measurably better.

My symptoms are similar to yours. The worst are the vertigo, muscle weakness, fatigue, dizziness, anxiety, headaches.

I take Professional Formulas Pure Adrenal 200. I take one pill 2x daily. Each pill contains "200mg. Adrenal Tissue", which the LLMD agreed was the best way to treat. In his opinion the herbal methods don't help repair the Adrenals. I'm sure debatable here but his opinion.

When I first saw the ND in July he said I had the worst Adrenal Fatigue he's ever seen. With my August checkup he told me I was 50% approved with the Adrenal support and I do feel better, Thank God!

An interesting point of this..the LLMD says I have POTS but the ND says it's Adrenal Fatigue and will get better with the AF treatment. I do feel better and have less of a desire to remain Lying down all day. My energy is better, less pain, less vertigo and dizziness.

I hope this helps.

I read a couple books on adrenal fatigue and worked hard on getting them back to health after my illness. It's an important thing for many people in our society today. I still stay on top of it because I don't want to get sick again.

Adrenal Fatigue, the 21st century stress syndrome is one book I read and they also have a website with some information.

It's not enough to just take some capsules to heal them. You have to get proper sleep and rest, exercise, diet, etc. Plus perhaps some adrenal support.

I really feel that this is my issue. I have the police academy soon so I have to get this under control very soon as I will be physically pushed for a few months.

Any suggestions on what to take ? I don't know if my LLMD is that knowledgable in adrenal issues

The HPA axis is off.

Google this (!):

Phosphatidylserine HPA axis.

All of the various "glands" signal one another.

Hmm how do I correct that. I've been taking the Neroscience products they suggested but it doesn't seem to be doing much after 6 months.

It's more a matter of what to DO rather than what to TAKE. There is no magic pill to overcome adrenal fatigue.

Some herbs can HELP, but they won't CURE. Get the book and read up about it. It makes sense.

The following is a very good link (very easy to understand!) that talks about when to eat, what to eat, when to do strenuous exercise, when to do light exercise, etc.

Right but what I'm saying is I won't have a choice on when I get to eat or amount of exercise I have to endure in the academy so I need all the help and support I can get now

Tbrown,

The formula I'm taking was prescribed by a ND who is also a Pharmasist. He says you have to have a license to sell it. I bought it at his office near Pittsburgh.

He muscle tested me for it. The first mo. I needed 4...the worst he's ever seen. A mo. later I only need 2 per day and feel a lot better. This after many many months of no improvement with another Dr.

If it is anything like the Army, you will be well fed.

Here's a guide to helping you chose the right foods in the "chow line":

http://www.adrenalfatiguerecovery.com/adrenal-fatigue-diet.html

Your choices at BREAKFAST maybe the most important factor.

MAYBE in addition to Mvdr's suggestion (?).

Interesting. I wonder if my LLMD is literate in adrenal issues. She only gave me a neuroscience cortisol test last time and then nueroscience themselves suggest products to take which I have been taking for months with little improvement. I need to start taking something as I'm miserable but I don't see her til the 12th

No natural things helped me. I had to go on hydrocortisone. I went to a bio=identical hormone replacement doctor for this.

It was well worth it. I am on my third LLMD and none were/are expert in adrenal/thyroid/hormone issues. two of them tried but at only one dose of hydrocortisone per day and too low of a dose.

Now, I'm able to gain benefit by the more natural methods.
