I have been trying to research. I looked into Goodrx, but I am only seeing the vials. Which is great to help me with the IM injections I have been doing.

What do I do when now I am waiting on approval for my line for IV? The company the dr. uses quoted me $155. per day. with out insurance.
For supplies, meds and fees.
I believe my starting dose is 2gm a day.

Now, when I did the im's I mixed the injections myself.

I just don't know how all this works with iv. is there a way to do it myself, safely? I know the company the dr. uses sends iv balls.

I am so confused and discouraged, I am afraid to tell my husband b/c I am sure he will hit the roof on this one.

Someone told me they checked infuserve and they were pretty expensive.

When I am looking at these sights and am seeing the vials, those are for the im's not for the iv? Or is it used for iv too? I am so confused!

I appreciate any help. My mind is such a mosh pit right now anyways with the lyme, I am having a hard time comprehending anything.

Google "Infusion for Lymies" and download the free booklet. Some people can mix their own IV solutions at home (Not recommended, but what the heck its been done by others), but getting the needed supplies easily varies from state to state.

Have you tried IM Rocephin? It's almost as effective as IV. Search and see a few old research papers.

Generic rocephin cost me 1200/mo for 4 grams daily.

I had my own IV bags, sets, heparin flushes etc.

My doc taught me how to do everything myself.

The IV supplies cost about $140 month.

But the IV roceph made the biggest difference in neuro lyme.

Droid (LN member) has it down to $30 per day. One of his older posts explains how.

Good luck. Yes it is terribly expensive.

PS. The vials are the same for IM or IV, one is probably 1g and the IV is 2g per vial.

ok, I will check all of those out. I think I'm in a better frame of mind after realizing I wasn't going to get stuck with $155 a day.

I talked to infuserve and they quoted 14 balls at $359 for 14 days. that's @25 a day

Why in the world do the prices fluctuate so much?

So for the IM, I take 1 gram, one dr. told me the amount of meds I need to break the blood brain barrier would need to come from iv not im.

But I have been on im for the past month. I have apparently made progress, I've been told. I couldn't tell but others saw a difference in me.

My doc told me I could use the vials for IM shots in the IV.

We tried IM shots first, to see if I could tolerate the drug (but I couldn't).

For 20 viles at 2 grams each it was $100 for the box at the hospital pharmacy earlier this year. No insurance.

Check infuserve. I only did Rocephin for a few months but they have a kit with all your supplies for less than what most can pay mixing themselves. At the time I used Rocephin, the kit was $599 for 30 days supply.

faithful,

Did you get the actual rocephin or the generic ceftriaxone?
