I was diagnosed with lyme 20 years ago, was on antibiotics for several years and have been relatively healthy for the past 12 years.
For the past three months, I've had unexplained muscle pain in my back and legs. When all doctors couldn't come up with a reason, I sent bloodwork to Igenex, which I'm getting back in the next few days.
Two questions:
1) Would it be odd to have muscle pain as the only lyme symptom?
2) Since I won't see my LLMD for a few weeks, what I should I look for in Igenex results to indicate current lyme vs. past infection?
Thanks!

bruce101, Sorry to hear your sick again, you had a good run - 12 years!
You said you've had this pain
quote:(unexplained muscle pain in my back and legs)
for three months.
1- I guess anything is posible when it comes to these diseases but, it sounds to me like you could have a back problem.
Have you gotten a scan done?
2- When you get your results from Igenex just post everything here and members will tell you what your results mean.

I had 2 MRI scans as well as a ton of bloodwork from a rheumotologist. All came back normal. So my mind went to the lyme.
That being said, I started physical therapy which didn't really help. My therapist believes it's all posture-related, which I guess is possible since I have bad posture.
Just seems odd that the muscle pain would migrate... one day in the back, one day in the legs, one day completely gone, the next day back in both places, etc.

Migrating pain = most likely Lyme.
No test can distinguish between old & new Lyme, they just aren't accurate enough, and Lyme does not play by the usual "IgM = active/current infection, IgG = dormant/old infection" paradigm.
Just post your results here - we'll help you figure out what it all means...

In the meanwhile, perhaps supplementing magnesium would help.

Yes, I had only muscle pain symptoms in the beginning, for about a year and a half.
