Not trying to create a panic here, but I do find this article disturbing.
It's written by two "national experts on respiratory protection and infectious disease transmission".
"We believe there is scientific and epidemiologic evidence that Ebola virus has the potential to be transmitted via infectious aerosol particles both near and at a distance from infected patients, which means that healthcare workers should be wearing respirators, not facemasks.1
The minimum level of protection in high-risk settings should be a respirator with an assigned protection factor greater than 10. A powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR) with a hood or helmet offers many advantages over an N95 filtering facepiece or similar respirator, being more protective, comfortable, and cost-effective in the long run.
We strongly urge the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) to seek funds for the purchase and transport of PAPRs to all healthcare workers currently fighting the battle against Ebola throughout Africa—and beyond...."

Over the summer I read both of Buhner's antimicrobial books. Here is a quote about Buhner I found online:
"In Stephen Harrod Buhner’s intensely researched and important book, Herbal Antivirals, he cites the compounds in elderberries are particularly active against enveloped viruses, including filoviruses, such as Marburg and Ebola."
In my notes: Elder: Some people are sensitive to HCN content so boiling may be necessary but most people can eat the berries with impunity. Don’t take it if you have malaria. (Don't know whether this applies to babesia or not.)
Over the summer I made an elderberry tincture using 50/50 alcohol/water andI also made a glycerite using 60Glycerite:40Water. Rico Cech of Horizon Herbs loves the glycerite and this is his ratio. No ratio was given for the tincture using berries but the 50:50 is the usual.

You can get the herb dry in a capsule...that's what I've always used during flu season, or when I've come down with a cold...
