How about magnesium oil or gel topically? Wash

off after 20 minutes if needed.

canefan- I just was told there are people with specific problems associated with magnesium absorption and the problem was the different kinds of magnesium being used. The doc said one kind was good for this, and the other for that.

Of course, I paid no attention beyond that point, as I have a bad reaction to magnesium and didn't plan to use it anyway. If you would like, I will track down the doctor and ask - and write it down this time- what was what. Let me know if I can be of help in this regard.

Ive been using CALM recently. When getting off pain meds after surgery i needed something that would work fast cuz of cramping. Thus works fast. It is a powder you put in hot water like a tea. It tastes lemony-you can use sweetner if you need to i guess. It works really fast

For 20 yrs before i used mag tab sr reccomended by dr b

That worked good but not fast

If you have access to IV Mg, or Myers cocktail, which also contains vit. C and the B vitamins, this is the most helpful. At least in my experience.

Topical works pretty well too, also epsom salts baths.

CALMS does work fast.

if I get cramps- the kind that you think you're gonna die- I drink it and within 2 minutes they are gone.

it comes in flavors too- lemon, raspberry, plain (yuck)

Mag Phos 6x cell salts or otherwise known as

tissue salts or Scheussler's Cell Salts is

another good way to get Magnesium.

A typical daily dose is 4 pellets three times

daily.

But, if there is an acute episode of muscle

spasm

THE LABEL SAYS: 4 pellets every 15 minutes up

to 8 doses total for the day. This particular

cell salt works

really good and fast if one throws the 4 pellets

into 1/4 cup hot water, swirl and take. Repeat as

needed. Space out doses with improvement.

I find this magnesium Understanding Different Types of Magnesium guide helpful.

http://www.drnibber.com/understanding-different-types-of-magnesium/

I take pure encapsulation Magnesium Glycinate with no problems. The pure encapsulation brand of vitamins is a little price but they don't have any junk fillers. I think their products are high quality.

The CALM supplement causes brain fog and blurred vision for me.

Ugh I can never take stuff that others can. What's the deal with that?

I can't take CALM either, for me I think it's the citrate that's the problem.

The only magnesium I can tolerate is sublingual. Mother Earth (no flavor) or Angstrom (haven't tried it, but it's suppose to be salty) are the brands.

The oil burns my skin, epsom salt burns my skin, and all the pills hate my gut (I've tried every kind of magnesium pill out there, you name it, it's in my failed supplements drawer).

Do you struggle to take other things as well or just the magnesium?

The Mag Phos 6x cell salt is a sublingual. Maybe it

will be tolerable?

We had some luck with Organic India Peaceful Sleep in calming down a wired nerve feeling.

The Mag Phos 6x cell salts have an affinity for

the white fibers of the muscles and nerves and

one can take up to 32 pellets a day. Did you try

it yet? If so, I will let up on mentioning it and

try to think of another magnesium that might

work. [Smile]
