I was diagnosed with chronic lyme a few years ago. Went to see a dr, was on antibiotics for about a year along with many supplements. I was feeling so much better. It has been about 2 years and I haven't really had any issues.
Over the summer I was swimming in the ocean and I was stung by jelly fish pretty bad. I had a reaction for about a month. My reaction was topical, hives to the area where I was stung.
I was stung on my feet, ankles and legs. At that point in time, I noticed that I was also experiencing pins and needles in my legs as well as my face. I thought it had something to do with the jelly fish sting. I experienced that on and off for a few days. That was back in later August, right around Labor Day.
The last two days I have been experiencing pins and needles on my face. Mainly on my cheeks and chin. Could this possibly be from Lyme?
I am very active, I have been feeling great. I work out with a PT 3x's a week. I run 3 days a week.
I am going to my primary care dr, who is LL.
I just thought I would post this to see if this could be a symptom of Lyme or maybe something else.
I am gluten free and eat very well. I am trying my best to be sugar free, but I am finding that challenging.
It seems like an odd symptom to me, but everything about Lyme seems challenging. The pins and needles do not last all day. I will have it for a few min and a few hours later it will pop up again.
Any input would be helpful. Thank you so much

Sorry you are going through this.
A hornet sting sent my body into a downward spiral-flaring all symptoms.
I can't imagine a jelly fish sting!
Ouch!
I've had the tingly face on two instances:
-While using diamox. My nose and cheeks get pin tingly and numb-ish sometimes
-While I was on doxy, and started to get the sun/doxy reaction. It felt like icecrystals were hitting my face for weeks afterwards.
Have you started a new supplement recently?
Sorry I don't have a definitive answer for you.
Just those instances above where I had the tingly face.
Take care Greta

The feeling of being stabbed by pins and needles is a common lyme symptom. I had it.
You can get it anywhere and it can come and go and can become constant.
It is a neuropathy (false sensation) caused by lyme attacking the nerves.
You could try some lyme treatment and see if it gets rid of it. 30 days of doxy got rid of it for me, but when I stopped the doxy it came back.
This is what forced me to go to lyme support groups for help in finding a lyme specialist.

just a thought.... I get pins and needles (not neuropathy jabs- that is different) in the face when I am stressed. this feels more like when your arm falls asleep. do you get sharp jabs?
mostly around the chin/jaw area mine was.
I went to chiropractor for it years ago. as soon as he said it was stress related the feeling went away and only comes back when I am really stressed about something pretty big.
my body chooses a thing to focus on when it is stressed. I know my trigger spots now.
not saying yours is stress related, but maybe. hopefully nothing more for you.
