my bp has been creeping up again. last night it got up to 190.

thismorning it was 136. then about 3:00 I started feeling anxious. my chest hurt and I was short of breath. I started having cramps in arms and legs.

sure nuff. my bp was rising. it was 163.

I don't know what is causing these episodes. he's gone and has been for days so it shouldn't be a problem.

sometimes I'm gasping for breath. I can feel mysel starting to shake. I keep talking to myself trying to calm down.

the doc gave me lorazepam and said to take it during these episodes but I hate to.

I don't think its lyme but not sure. my husband calls them panic attacks but I dont think those raise your bp.

is anxiety part of lyme?

For many of us - psychological symptoms,
pepression and anxious can be the worst symptoms with Lyme, myself included.

Some years back I really thought my anxious/depression was going to kill me. For a few years they were a 10+ 24/7.

I hope you can get your B/P under control…

Steve

Something else is going on, randi. I hope you can figure it out.

I thought I posted something for you a month ago about high blood pressure .. but I can't think of what the tip was.

Keep a food journal .. just in case.

Very low magnesium will give you high BP and anxiety for no reason.

Orals do nothing for low magnesium.

Topical magnesium oil, best is IV Mag sulfate.

If someone else is there that can monitor you: Try a mildly warm epsom salt bath. 2 cups of epsom, 1 cup of baking soda. 20 minutes. Drink a glass of cool water before. And another when you get out. But only do this if someone else is at home. Wouldn't want you to get dizzy and hurt yourself while you were alone.

One time my blood pressure was going up (from

Borage oil!)and I felt driven to take my shoes

off and go stand barefoot on a cool floor or

even outside in the garage on the cold concrete.

It brought the blood out of my head to my feet

and lowered it. Walking helped too.

Anxiety is a huge part of the Lyme battle for lots of us.

Glad you're getting tips and advice here, because anything that can lower or eliminate the anxiety is great.

Even if there is a non-lyme related issue going on, it's always good to know some secret weapons to help keep anxiety in check.

I'm in remission and still deal with panic and anxiety. That symptom decided to stick around and make life fun. [Wink]

Hope you get some answers!

So sorry your going through this right now. Me too...even went to the er the other night(stupid me)

I think its bart and or lyme. I do take the xanax for now because its gotten so bad and of course they tell me its all anxiety as well. I personally think I get the anxiety because of the fast heart rate not the other way around.

Hope you figure out something soon.

randi .. which kind of magnesium pills?

Most mag is not readily absorbed. Mag oil bypasses the gut issues.
