I am in agony after IVIG of last week.
I am clueless about steroids because I swore I would never take them. But am desperate.
I think the choices are Pred., Dex and Medrol.
Which of these the "best" or "worst"?
I want to do 2-3 days to take the edge off the inflammation.
Which one has the shortest half-life?
Thanks any help.

Hydrocortisone is better. But of the 3 you listed, Medrol is best (according to my Allergist).

Thanks Razzle. I am getting ready to send an email to the doctor.
Hydrocortisone vs Medrol? Difference?
Better vs best?
HC is oral, right? Anti-inflammatory? Shortest acting of the four mentioned? Tks.

Hydrocortisone is most similar to your body's own cortisol, thus is least difficult to tolerate.
I had the most side-effects from Prednisone, and the least from Hydrocortisone. Medrol was somewhere in-between.
Yes, Hydrocortisone is oral. And I find it kicks in and wears off faster than any other form of steroid I've been on (I've been on Hydrocortisone, Prednisone, Medrol, Entocort, and various inhalers).
