- On paper, Vinpocetine is very nice as an antioxidant, indeed, and helpful for the inner ear system. I can see that the antioxidant nature of it might also be helpful for eyes, I just found it with my ears in mind.
And the inner ear system is so tied to vision that it seems a good idea to explore one that has benefit for both.
I have taken it for a few months here and there over the years but did not see that much different for myself.
I do not recall getting any kind of buzz with it but don't take it past about 2 pm the first week or two, until you see how your body manages it.
As I had to cut out all but one or two items a month, this one made the cut long ago. Still, do read up on it and give it a try.
Astaxanthan "reads" a little better, though, as an antioxidant but I'm not sure it lives up to its "media coverage" or not since I have not tried that. Always too expensive for me. But, if you do, take the very best quality, even if it costs more. Just take less if you need to.
Better to have a little of the best quality and ration it out than a lot of a poor quality. -

- Gingko - can be rather excitatory in nature. With may tries over the years, I never could tolerate it. If you try it, start low & slow - and not after 2 pm at first until you see how you do with it.
Same with rhodiola re: the potentially excitatory property of it - for some people. And, it plays better with others than alone. -

- This is what I took. An excellent source: Vitamin Research Products. They used to have excellent research articles with numerous 3rd party citations but it seems they no longer have that (I think because the FDA told them they could not).
