I started taking Ivermectin recently. My doc rx’d it to “de-worm” me, although I was aware that it was good for Protomyxzoa, and hopefully Babesia, as well as other parasites. I have had a hefty

case of Babesia with bad symptoms for a very long time.

I never got on top of Babs, although it always helped my symptoms a lot to be on treatment for it. But I’ve had NO treatment for it for 1-¼ years, and my symptoms have gone through the roof!

The worst symptoms that I’ve been having have been sweats, zero energy for anything at all, “too tired to breathe,” a LOT of breathing problems (can’t breathe in well at all), a lot of deep coughing that sounds like horrible asthmatic bronchitis (which I did have all my life until I got on IVIG). Also, daily migraines.

My doc gave me 3 mg twice per day for 10 days, but I got him to double the dosage for me. I started with 1 3 mg pill the first day, 1 pill twice a day the second day, etc., so that by day 4 I was doing 2 pills twice a day (12 mg total).

I was already flat on my back, due to symptoms and total exhaustion after Christmas and end of the year health insurance hassles. I probably ramped up too quickly.

Now I have been flat on my back with no energy to breathe, sit up, or anything, no matter how many stimulant supplements, meds, and caffeine I take to try and do a few basics. (Please don’t lecture me about that one; if I hadn’t done this for a long time, I wouldn’t be here anymore, so I’ve been between a rock and a hard place for many, many years).

I also can’t think to save my life, which is usual for me for this mess, it’s just worse than usual.

I finally put 2 and 2 together that I am probably having a horrible herx----duh! It took a while to sink in. I was in pretty bad shape already, but this is just not getting better.

Question: Have others had similar reactions?
I am not taking any other pathogen meds while on it.

I’m supposed to follow it up with 3 days wash-out, and then a round of Coartem, which I haven’t had in a long time. But my insurance company has denied covering the Coartem, because I

don’t have “a documented case of malaria”!!! In spite of my doctor’s explanation, and trying to fight it several times. Grrrrr!! So I have to appeal it.

Then, on to Mepron, which I’ve done well on in the past, along with zith. And a round of Coartem per month.

Experiences, please?
Suggestions?

Detox, of course. I have only done some detox, because I don’t have the energy to do more!! I will be finished with this round by my Wednesday am dosage. I guess I should do less tomorrow and Wednesday am, while I play catch up with detox.

It’s unbelievable how I sometimes don’t get it that it’s a herx reaction that I’m having! As I said, I can barely think my way out of a paper bag now.

Here's a protocol that someone has - http://www.curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1586882

"Ivermectin (Stromectol): 1 dose*, based on .2mg/kg, 1 hr before bedtime, on empty stomach, with 8oz water or beverage. Take dose for 4 days on, 3 days off. Repeat dosage every week (even during off-days of Albendazole) for 5 or more weeks, as needed, to cure infection.

Alternate Dosage Schedule: For severe hyperinfection cases, follow this schedule instead of the above: Take dose for 7 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on. Continue the "pulse method" of 2 days off, 2 days on, etc, even during off-days of Albendazole, until infection is cured. "

It has a long half life so may help to cut down doses if it gives weird symptoms.

Thank you. I didn't take any today and will do detox. I will wait to finish this round until I'm feeling a little better. It's been brutal!
