Has anyone tried Lactoferrin and Xylitol? LLMD wants to put me on both together for biofilm, and I would love to hear personal experiences.
I will be taking them both orally - Jarrow Lactoferrin capsules and Jarrow XyliPure Xylitol powder in water.
thank you!

My doc likes both those, but said just xylitol for me. I have been trying and have been having bad yeast reactions from it, so still trying to figure it out.

Michael, Thanks for responding. That's interesting that you're having bad yeast reactions. My dentist recommended Xylitol for combating yeast.

I tried that combo for 1 week and my herxing went through the roof! I had to take a break from everything. Now I am back on abx. I know I will go back on that protocol too eventually. Hope you tolerate it better than me!

I tried them both before I was under the care of an LL.
Didn't notice a whole heck of a lot, although I wasn't taking any antibacterials at the time.
My doc is a big fan of xylitol nasal washes-says it is the best treatment for congestion caused by bacteria or fungus.
He is a naturopathic doctor, so generally avoids treating with pharma unless necessary.
I thought it was a strange directive, until I tried it and boy oh boy, did that xylitol get rid of 70% of congestion issues I was having with my sinuses.
He said the trick was that the xylitol only really worked when it was in contact with the nasal tissue, so to do the nasal flushing many times a day, keeping the liquid in my nose as long as possible.
Sorry, I know the lacto/xylitol is internal, just sharing that in my opinion, xylitol DOES bust up biofilms...

I see much better results from DMSA (oral), EDTA (IV), and going on a low fat diet. All three of those EACH did more for stripping biofilms than lactoferrin/xylitol ever did for me.
There is a doctor who believes a biofilm producing bug named protomyzoa is why people improve so much when they follow a low fat diet.
Low fat diet/DMSA/ EDTA strips the biofilms, then you hit the lyme with antibiotics+ tindamax to beat it down once exposed.

Charles555nc that is an interesting concept and I am sure it strips biofilm. But a person must be careful using this protocol as you will be moving metals with DMSA.
