Hi all,

I need help for my friend. Brief back story:

Has Lyme, confirmed by Western Blot twice test here in Canada-I know crazy to get a positive Canadian blood test, but that's another story...

She has been treating using Photons, herbs and supplements and was doing great, so great that she went to Mexico on holiday.

6 days ago she came down with flu like symptoms and has had a high fever ever since. Lung and sinus congestion with green snot.

Lots of body pain and weakness too. She can barley get to the bathroom.

She was also bit by an unknown bug one week before this illness.

So now she's REALLY sick and many people are urging her to go to the hospital. She doesn't know if it's a virus or if it's Lyme relapse due to bug bite.

She's worried, of course, that she'll run into Lyme illiterate doctors if she goes to the hospital and may get given something that makes Lyme worse.

QUESTION:

If she does decide to take ABX what would be good one for her to ask for?
She would be taking it primarily for a lung infection but also possibly for Lyme relapse.

I reminded her no steroids unless her life is in immediate danger.

Any other tips?

Thanks so much for any help. To make matters worse her travelling companions had just left for home and her new ones don't arrive until next week so she's all alone there!

P.S. she has with her: Colloidal Silver, GSE, lots of detox herbs and a few other things so she's been treating herself as best she can.

Boy, that is rough! I would have no clue what antibiotics.

Just tell her to stay away from steroids and fluoroquinolones.

Any chance she can just go HOME?

No idea whether this would help, but can she get ahold of some turmeric? It's a good natural anti-inflammatory.

Before she was diagnosed, a friend with very bad Lyme symptoms got sick in Mexico. She was hospitalized and taken very seriously. She said multiple docs would be in her room discussing her case.

They found and treated many of her infections (she doesn't have her records, so doesn't know whether Lyme was something they treated).

She was well for TWO YEARS after returning from Mexico!

This isn't advice. Just someone's experience. But the docs in Mexico took her symptoms seriously, which is something that had never happened in the US. When she relapsed, she still couldn't find any US docs to treat her.

At the very least, your friend should get on abx for her sinus/lung infection.

Maybe that would work! Just head to the hospital.

Thanks all,

She's terrified of the hospital as doctors here have treated her like cr@p.

Her positive blood work has been called a "false positive" even though they tested her twice and both times positive. You all know the drill.

Thats good to hear Boxer Mom that your friend had good experience at a Mexican hospital. Maybe that is the best option.

As for going home, she travelled overland by bus to a none tourist area and would have to make the return trip to the Airport. Right now she's not up for that.

I think being alone is really getting to her. Her friends returned to Canada and she'd in their apartment. She was going to fly to Equidor to meet up with another friend but has cancelled that flight.

Luckily she speaks reasonable Spanish and makes friends easily so a few neighbours are checking on her.

Today the neighbours sent their medicine man who arrived with a Silver Nebulizor? She feels it's helping her lungs. This guy also had something like a rife machine. She tried a very tiny treatment.

She's worried that all the things she has been taking may be causing herx like activity too. Oh my!

Thanks again for the thoughts.
