Update- Dr. Charles R. Jones
Dr. Jones has some health concerns that need to be addressed. They stem from several falls he has taken recently. During the next few weeks (estimated 4-6 weeks) he will be poked, prodded and evaluated while staying busy working on getting stronger via medical care and rehab.
Regrettably, his office will have to be closed during this time. Previously scheduled appointments are being rescheduled as fast as his staff of angles can get to them, so please be patient.
If you or your children would like to send a cheerful get well note to Dr. Jones, his address is:
Dr. Charles R. Jones 111 Park Street Ground Floor New Haven, CT 06511
I will post updates on the website as they become available (look under his picture for "Latest Updates for Dr. Jones” on the main page and click that link).

I got an email from someone who had not known about this and had a scheduled appointment (long drive), so am bringing this back up so more are aware. They happened to see the note on the website the night before traveling to CT.
So please let anyone know that may have children going to Dr. J. Thanks!

Not sure how I missed this earlier in the month.
So very sorry to hear this both for Dr. Jones and his patients.
He just had a birthday March 14th - I think he is 86 years old now.
Several falls ?? very concerned to hear this.
In my thoughts and prayers now more than ever.
Hope he gets many cards and letters to show him the love and appreciation he so deserves.

"Several falls??" Somehow I missed that TC's post. Oh how sad!!! If anyone could live forever, it should be him!! But, of course, none of us can.
I wish, wish, wish that someone had been willing to mentor with him to take over his practice, but no one was willing to, due to what the state MB has put him through!
I know from my own recent experience how the decline goes from bad falls----terrible. We need to send him lots of love and prayers!

Thank you so much, TC, for keeping us updated. It just makes me so sad. Yes, cards are very much in order. I just pray that he will make a recovery. God only knows what all the families will do when he can't practice at all anymore.
Has anyone done some kind of work to help him talk into a tape recorder or whatever to record all of his knowledge?? I hope so, or that someone can do something like that now, if possible.
Not that you can clone him!

Kayak, I will try to remember just for you! Just remind me if you can remember. HA!
Rumigirl, you are very welcome. He has had a number of doctors and nurse practitioners work with him or train with him, so the knowledge is getting out there. He keeps so busy he won't stop to record stuff- which I can't blame him but it would be nice.
Unfortunately, a lot of what he does is by "feel" (experience) mixed in with the medical and scientific stuff. He's a natural.
The children he sees are so much sicker than the ones were in the early years and a lot more challenging. He seems to attract the worst of them, poor darlings.
Some doctors have recorded some of his notes and there are studies and a slide presentation on the Dr. J kids site. I'm grabbing up all I can to save for others.
And if there ever were clones of people- he'd get my vote- and he'd be top on the list.
I don't remember him ever having to take off work for any length of time. This must be very hard on him.

Dr. Jones is much better healthwise but still can't see patients. His office called yesterday and rescheduled my daughters appointment upcoming April appointment.
He is hoping to start seeing patients again soon but for now he has to wait and it may be a few more weeks.
He is doing much better now that he is using a walker versus the cane. Unfortunately his body gives out, especially his right knee and with shoulder issues when the knee goes it is not like he can catch himself.
It was the knee giving out which led to the fall where he hit his head which led to this situation. With the walker he is able to "catch" himself and not fall.
