when it rains, it hails on me. I swear...
my shoulder hasn't been right since I tried to lift a table months ago. well I actually don't know what I did but I was cleaning yesterday and I felt a popping snap along my collar bone. it really hurt. it's swollen and my arm feels numb.
very sore to touch and when I lean over it really hurts worse.
I've had no sleep cause I'm trying to wean off this lorazepam even tho it's only 1 mg. I'm just tired of pills, vitamins and all. I don't want to take any of this crap anymore.
I made appt with dr tomorrow. has anybody had a broken collarbone? I've read where you have to wear a sling for weeks and it can take 4-6 months to heal.
could it jus be severe muuscle strain or something?

- From a broken bone in my foot, I can say that if your bone were to have been broken, my guess is that it would have been just mind blowing how much that hurt and a trip to the ER would have been without question.
If it's broken the sling will help you feel BETTER. A sling may be required, though, regardless if bone broken or soft tissue injury. It's clear you have some kind of injury and keeping that shoulder still is important for a while.
As for healing time, whether bone or soft tissue, it could be many months or a year as well. But it won't hurt like it does now that whole time. Each week, a bit better.
There's a lot of other stuff between bone and soft tissue, though.
Whatever is going on if you don't go to Urgent Care tonight and can make it until your appt. tomorrow and the imaging they may order . . .
you will have an answer and then be on the countdown to it feeling better.
If something is out of place, just lining things up again is the first step to feeling better. Almost on your way.
As for lifting, cleaning, seems time to find others to come in and take over some of those jobs. You can move on up to management, eh? -

ha....wonderful...
I hate to be morbid but I would love to come home and say "I told you I was in pain and suffering. now here's the bloody proof."

- There need not be a broken bone to prove pain. Soft tissue, even some that does not show up on an image "test" can cause serious pain, too.
The problem is not so much not being able to convince him (or anyone) that you have pain but having him be the sort that requires such proof in the first place.
Your word ought always to be enough. His failure in this department, not yours. You have nothing to prove. -
