Articles above are way above my head but mold is a killer for me.

When I first got lyme and was in bed for almost a year, the apt I was renting had a moldy bathroom.

I Know that hurt me badly.

Actually I thought my whole problem was mold back then in my first year.

Then I stumbled on bullseye rash on the internet one day and then I figured out I probably had lyme.

Did the Igenix test and found out for sure.

But even today if I open a moldy book or go into a store or house with mold I have to basically run.

So I had a double problem, but it took me at least 2 years to figure out the two problems.

Drs Couldn't tell me what the problem was that was for sure.

The only thing that came back was from an MRI that said I had a type of encephalitis.

I now know that was from lying in bed for a year sweating constantly.

I think I am lucky to still be here.

Thank you for posting the above articles..... [Smile]

those articals basically say that even if you were exposed to mold a long time ago it is possible it is affecting your health today

two doctors approach dx and tx differently...altho a lot of the tx is similar and some you can do on your won

it is worse if you have a gene that makes it impossible for you to detox mold on your own

there are docs treating this...i can pm you how to find them if you want

the actual tx isnt very expensive but the doc appts and travel might be

if you are well enough to tx yourself the protocols are online

the most important thing is to get to a mold free environment before tx

there are two essential oils i have found that are supposed to make mold spores dormant and then they can be removed from environment with hepa filter air cleaner

mold will keep coming back if you dont keep the humidity below 50%

one oil is germ fighter by PlantTherapy.com

its a take off on thieves oil it...you can goodle it to see how it protected ppl from the plague

the second oil is clear the air by NOW

i diffuse the oils with a diffuser and then run hepa filter to clean up dormant spores

I took the path of least resistance... I moved and moved Quick.... 12 nights in a hotel at 125 a night..... I slept like a sweaty baby... then found another apt....

The thing I gained from this is I can smell mold from about a 100 yards now.

I should rent myself out as a mold detection dog [Smile]

so sensitive to mold now..... wow

I had mine done at RealTime Labs (www.realtimelab.com). Don't know for sure, but probably need MD or such to prescribe it.

Mold literate ppl please help me:

Less than a year ago i finished remediating 90% of my new to me house. Friends and family did a lot...so did i...and i kept an eye on what was going on.

Rooms were blocked off and negative air used when we removed all visable mold

We cut bottim foot of sheet rock all around house and if there

were any signs of mold we cut more until we got to dry, healthy

wood

Evetything was washed down with special mold killer, concrete
slab was sealed twice, rooms were ozoned at high levels with hepa filters running repeatedly, all ceilings and walls were
painted with low voc, mold resistant paint. Special flooring was
used to resist mold. Dri core subfloor has built in ventilation and

high quality low voc vinyl plank was used on top.

House is 1000 sf. I. Have 3 window ac, two dehumidufyers and
one movable ac/dehumidifyer. House is heated by direct vent rinaii wall unit. No duct work

Oh...i did hire one mold company to do attic. All insulation was

removed...it was moldy from old leaks. They used dri ice to cean
all wood low enough to get mold roots...then hepa vacumed with hepa vac

I

Then they painted all wood with mold resisted paint

I had redone and repaired vents before they cleaned attic

Then they blrw in 18 " mold resistent insulation

So this house was really clean going into winter. I am really goodat keeping humidity below 45 and opening shades to let sun in

I never felt sick...and i am.like a canary

I am spring cleaning now and so far have found two spots of what looks like black mold. Im not positive....im sendingoff tape test soon

Both spots are less than a foot square. One is under polyptopolene rug on vinyl floor

The othet is inside recliner...it is on some white stuffing in therr. You can see it when you turn chair upside down

Whst i dont get is how can mold grow if humidity is kept low. Both places were dark. One (rug) might have been wet...spilled water or something...but that couldnt have happenef under chir

Everything i have learned in these three years about mold and construction says this couldnt happen

The house rarely smells moldy but outside air does. Many neighbors have wet cellars

I am.on slab but there is no sign of water coming in from.outside except old roof leak that new roof has been pt over

The original moldy floors came from a toilet wax ring that leaked for ten years

Does anyone know how this could have happened and what i can do to prrvent it

My first thing is no more rugs that dont fit in washing machine

Thank you for your help
