I have this theory that drastic hormonal changes can "ignite" dormant Lyme. Like going off long-term birth control, having a baby, menopause, etc. Thoughts?

Yes, I firmly believe/ experienced having my last baby at age 40 tipped me over w/ Lyme/Bart symptoms.

I was carrying both, and that event/ afterward I became more symptomatic. It also involved a surgery.

It is believed/ known that anytime the immune system 'takes a hit' Lyme type dormant infections may flourish.

I was on a high-dose birth control pill(20 years ago)so high that I got the "mask of pregnancy"/skin discoloration on part of my face. My symptoms started about that time.

@dogmom2 - I had that skin discoloration also. I was probably on them 15 years. My symptoms started shortly after quitting the pill also.

.
I got a booster shot for German Measles a couple hours after I had my first baby.
The next morning I woke with so much pain in my wrist that I could barely manage to pick up my son.

That progressed to pain in both wrists, ankles and knees, and eventually constant migraines, leg pain, and fatigue.

I realize now that I have had Lyme symptoms since I was a child, but that vaccine did something awful to me.
