I have some ideas. We have a lot of deer and deer ticks at our place. My LLMD said that deer ticks are attracted to the carbon dioxide that your body gives off. To change our scent, we sprayed our shoes with rubbing alcohol last summer. This year I'm going to try rubbing something with a strong scent, like Ben Gay, on my shoes and ankles. Also, there's a website Mistymeadows.org. You search "misty meadows Lyme" which gives a recipe for Lyme Defense Tea (scan the document to find it) which supposedly kills ticks that bite you. She also gives a recipe for chronic tonic. And I understand that Walmart sells granules that you sprinkle on the lawn, right before a rain, that kills the ticks.

Borrelia nosodes LM4 or LM6, ingested.
I live in tick land, my daughter was 1 when she got bitten first time, we get bitten all the time.
The only very effective tick repellent was this ingested homeopathic product, recommended by my lyme doc. It does work to reduce number of bites.
I use that for many years, as I can get ticks even inside my own house (as husband is a tick repellent himself, if ticks go on his clothes, they will fall off inside our house)!
Apart from that, i may use Bugrepel (a combination of essential oils).
