Can Malarone be used by itself to treat Babesia? [or combined with Artemisinin/Cryptolepis?]
My understanding is that pure Mepron needs to be combined with a macrolide but Malarone can be taken alone. Is that true?
Also, is Malarone harmful to the gut flora like antibiotics are? Thanks!

Malarone needs an erythromycin-type drug, such as azithromycin (Zithromax), clarithromycin (Biaxin), or telithromycin (Ketek) with it just like Mepron does.

Thanks for the replies. Do you guys have the Microti or Duncani strain? I have Microti only; negative on Duncani antibodies, so maybe just Malarone will do for me.

Microti. LLMD also prescibed azithromycin and Enula. Said Enula needed with Malarone. My understanding was the Enula would be needed for duncani as well. You can get Enula on Amazon.com and from the manufacturer.
