Hi. Just curious if anyone has experience with pulsing doxy.
My LLMD recently talked about recent research on the benefits of pulsing,
and has me doing 5 days on/2 days off.
Taking 200mg twice daily (400mg/day).
Any experience with this?

Yes, I pulsed it for a long time, in combo with other meds. My schedule was a little different though - three weeks on and one week off.
I think pulsing has a lot of benefits! In addition to the efficacy, it gives your body a break and a chance to detox.

Hi there! Sounds like you had a good experience doing this.
I'm wondering about the differences in pulsing schedules and hoping that what my LLMD has me doing is beneficial.
Glad to hear you find it helpful!

I don't think there is a standard one size fits all approach. Every patient is different, and every doctor probably has a slightly different approach.

When pulsing - doesn't one consider the half-life of the drug? Doxy has a longer HL than Rocephin for example.

Yeah...I'm guessing it does depend on your situation, severity of infection, length of treatment, etc.
Curious about the HL perspective!
I love the weekends when I'm not on the Doryx because I can have eggs for breakfast....LOL!

Oh, I had been told long ago that you should not eat eggs or dairy within 2 hours of taking Doryx.
Even though eggs are not considered dairy.
This was not told to me by me current LLMD.
Is this not true? Holy cow, tell me I've been doing that for nothing....LOL!!!
