I went to an ear nose throat MD about 3 years ago for hoarseness and she said my vocal cords are damaged from silent reflux. I was Rxd zantac, but it didn't change anything.
Some days my hoarse voice is better than other days I admit I forget to not eat 3 hours before bed as she recommended. She also told me about chances of cancer with this which I promptlly forgot.
But,I was just reading about chances of esophageal cancer being higher with this. I had forgotten that she told me about that.
She also said back then that this happens for people with lyme.
Has anyone else with this been told this by an MD? I guess I don't see the connection.

When someone has acid reflux, it damages the esophagus and other tissue because those cells were not made to tolerate the acid that is found in the stomach.
The spirokete that causes Lyme disease is not dependent on the blood stream to get around. It's shaped like a corkscrew and can drill itself wherever it wants to go. So, it can cause problems anywhere.
