I have had Lyme Disease for almost 20 years. I had a year of no symptoms after months of high dose antibiotics.
Recently, however, I have felt my symptoms begin to increase. Which include:
Severe joint pain
Muscle pain
Headaches
Difficulty concentrating
Extreme fatigue
The list goes on and on, my brain can't think of all of them right now.
This is very disappointing considering I was doing so well for such a long period of time.
I was re-tested in August and it came back positive for Lyme. I have had Babesia (sp?) in the past although they did not re-test for that.
My doctor put me back on antibiotics and they are reeking havoc with my system. I am taking acidophilus to hopefully avoid yeast.
Are there any other suggestions of supplements to try? Is there a diet protocol that I can follow to hopefully avoid foods that trigger issues?
I feel so discouraged because my life was finally getting back into order and this happened.
I am grateful that I am not as sick as I was once but I suppose I am greedy and want that feeling of complete health once again.
Thank you for your time.

- Sorry that you have to face such discouraging news. Hopefully, though, this storm will pass soon and it will get easier.
A gluten-free diet often helps.
If you are taking doxycycline, be sure to keep your torso upright for a half hour after taking and
take doxy in the middle of a substantial snack or meal.
I wonder if you might be able to obtain a rife machine? There are various herbal protocols, too.
[Certain supplements are "required" for support, still] . . . If staying with pharmaceutical approach for the direct action, you might ask your LLMD about PULSING. Some detail here. See Pamela Weintraub's THREE posts:
Herbal Safety considerations & reference books; etc.
Links to many articles and books by holistic-minded LL doctors of various degrees who all have this basic approach in common:
Understanding of the importance of addressing the infection(s) fully head-on with specific measures from all corners of medicine;
knowing which supplements have direct impact, which are only support and which are both.
You can compare and contrast many approaches with links to articles, books, methods . . . -

I had that problem of relapses too. My remissions lasted never longer than 4 months.
What stopped my relapses was photon therapy with nosodes. I'm now more than 6 years lyme free, DESPITE new bites (every year, an average of 5 bites).
When I suspect the tick is contaminated, I do the therapy again, just one or two times (it is short, about 5-10 min every time, and just once a week).
My daughter too, relapsed or fell sick after a new bite. Now she's also lyme free. Photons and nosodes for us was the only way to stop relapses. We could reach remission with herbs, homeopathy, and microcurrents (similar to Rife), but what really stop relapses were photons.
I hope you find your way out soon!
