Hi everyone, I just started treatment for Lyme, bartonella, mycoplasma and chlamydia p last week and have been feeling worse for 3 days now. Having worse fatigue, fever (101-103), chills, headache, slight congestion, coughing, body aches, swollen lymph nodes, mild chest pain, muscle twitches, knee pain, sweats and burny eyes. So basically feel like I have the flu. Before treatment I had these symptoms as well sometimes
Do you think this is a bad herx or may it be a virus/flu anyway..? How to tell? Thanks

Hi Marly, Sadly, it is often hard to tell the difference between herxing from lyme treatment and the flu.
I know I was asking that question as well when I first started treatment.
Since you just started treatment, the chances are VERY high that it is a herx.
But the bottom line is that you would probably treat both of them the same. Get lots of rest and plenty of fluids.
I do hope you will feel better in a few days. If it would help you feel better, you can certainly call your LLMD and let him/her know what you are feeling and your doctor can make the call.
GET REST!!!!!

Thank you, I got in touch with him and he's pretty sure it's a herx reaction. I'm drinking lots and hopefully it'll get the toxins out. I was a bit worried about my fever being so high but he says it's all from the immune response and he's probably right. Thank you!
