How common is it to get extreme bouta of hunger, eat tons, and gain weight quickly at times when being treated for Lyme and Babesiosis?
I go through periods where I don't eat tons, then I get uncontrollable urges to eat everything in sight at times (generally when I'm more fatigued).
I just had coartem added to existing treatment yesterday-4pills 2 times a day- have been wiiiiiped out, and eating tons. I can easily gain 7 lbs in a week at times. This isn't healthy.
Any info and advice is appreciated.

- Adrenal dysfunction sounds like a major player here. But that you eat more when exhausted can also mean you don't have the physical support you need to best manage your food / home / chore needs. If you can have a talk with friends / family, maybe some could help.
Plan. Plan. Plan. But do not diet. Do. Not. Diet. Devise a wise & generous food plan.
Candida may well be, too (very likely if you are on antibiotics). Olive Leaf Extract a huge help in this regard.
Magnesium may be too low. Need that 3 - 4 x a day, never all at once.
Inflammation can cause swelling, water gain.
Steroid use can cause major cravings, too, but steroids pose other risks so hope they are not in your life.
Not eating enough for breakfast . . . REAL food like chicken soup (not canned), for instance.
Simple carbs in your life?
If so, time to separate and go only with complex carbs (from the plant kingdom), organic proteins and good quality fats. You may actually need more of these foods if you are eating processed foods. And, if so, when you kiss processed foods goodbye, you likely will also kiss cravings goodbye.
So many food additives trigger the addictive part of our brain to crave, crave, crave. "Natural flavors" do this and it's really dangerous for us. -
