My husband started drinking kombucha a month or so ago. Approximately two weeks later he started with the kefir also.
Since then he is having pain in his one elbow. He says it feels like he bruised it. But he doesn't recall any injury to the elbow.
Does anyone have any idea if these are connected or just coincidence?
His digestive system is definitely in better shape since adding the kefir.

I have painful elbows through Lyme. I notice them particularly, of course, if I am attempting to prop myself up on the elbows. Does your husband have Lyme? I am not sure about whether either kombucha or kefir are likely to have had a direct effect on an elbow.
When I first started on abx (many years after having started the illness), I did get a sore red patch over one elbow that may or may not have been a bull's eye rash.

He was diagnosed with Lyme & Babesia in 2011.
He had more babesia symptoms than lyme symptoms.
He never had any joint pain, just lots of muscle aches.

hmmm... You might want to Google and see if kombucha or kefir are high in oxalates. They are both high in histamine, so maybe that is making his joints hurt?

I started having elbow pain a few months ago. I don't know why. I thought I injured it cleaning but it's been persistent. It may not be food related but I don't know. Anything is possible.
I heard it may be what they call "tennis elbow"...(?)(No, I don't play tennis) I have just ordered a brace from this place - http://sure-sport.com/elbow/
I had an infrared knee brace a while back & it helped. I bought a copper one & a regular brace at the drugstore but they didn't work that well. I think the infrared ones are better. The compression was helpful on it's own but the ones with infrared are more helpful for me.
I guess I'll find out when it arrives.
I don't know how this may relate to Lyme or the co-infections. It's a weird pain because it really was hurting more in the forearm than in the elbow but it seems to be originating in the elbow. I never had pain in my arm before.
I also started having more joint pain in general but it may be due to menopause. I don't think that would be your husband's problem though...
I tried tumeric, fish oil, PEMF, saunas... nothing really helped much. Some light exercise like chi gung may help a bit.

Yesterday he did research "tennis elbow" and thought it could be something like that. No, he doesn't play tennis either...
He had also helped the children with a woodworking project just before it started. But the funny thing is, its his right elbow that hurts and he is left handed.
Sometimes it hurts from the wrist to the elbow and sometimes from the shoulder to the elbow. Like you said, it starts in the elbow.
Let us know how that brace works... He has been wrapping it with an ace bandage sometimes. Not sure how much or if it helps. He's trying other things too.
