My llmd OKed my one cup of coffee a day but since my cortisol levels are low I wonder if the coffee is harming the adrenals?

What do you guys think?

My acupuncturist / doctor of oriental medicine says that coffee acts like a whip to the adrenals, giving more energy by working the adrenals hard. If correct, this means that taking it would make it harder for them to heal.
