Hi. I'm on 4 Lyme and Babesia meds, oral nystatin 4 times a day, and tons of other meds.
I'm not big into adding extra stuff other than magnesium, Vit d 3, b complexes and probiotics.
I feel like my system has enough in it to add other supplements and herbs. To be honest, I'm not a huge believer of herbal things.
However, I do want to support my kidneys and liver. I drink about 78 oz of water a day, but my urine is anything but clear. I also can't get rid of the candida.
Can anyone offer insight as to why certain herbs and supplements are good along with if they won't interact with all sorts of meds? Are there any succinct links or info?
Maybe I'm not open-minded or educated enough on this matter.
I am doing fresh-squeezed lemons in water.

- I - seriously - cannot work with numbers but that figure for your water consumption might be a little high. Be sure to check that with at least five really solid professional sources, not just some web postings by random posters.
Too much water can be as dangerous as too little. And too much at one time, as well. Small amounts spread out over an hour better than even a full glass gulped all at once. -

- With the lemon water, be sure to do a clean water mouth switch after each time you take some lemon water. And wait at least 30 min. before brushing teeth. Citrus acid can eat the enamel right off our teeth and soften the surfaces. Be careful.
If you enjoy your lemon water or hot tea, oh, 5 or six times a day, just be sure to then clear it from your mouth very well. -

- As for your question about herbs / supplements complementing Rx treatment and not fighting with -- many LLMDs are knowledgeable in SOME key herbs / supplements. Most are very clear that they are required for our safety, actually, that these provide key nutrients for the organs during infection and treatment.
A LL ND would have a wider range of options, though there are many fewer LL NDs than LLMDs.
This book is a good place to start looking at how support can work with Rx from a LLMD's viewpoint:

- Beyond that, Google: "Harrod Buhner" - for his books on lyme and coinfections.
He's a master herbalist and one of the most brilliant LL researchers / authors. Whether you "do" herbs or not, his books are essential to the very understanding of how some of these infections work and do damage
and what we can do to help ourselves. -
