Hi, I am looking for info that shows correlation between high EBV test results and chronic lyme.

My test results for EBV:
EBV, Chronic/Active Infection EBV Early Antigen Ab, IgG 78.6 High U/mL 0.0 - 8.9 01
Hepatitis A, Hepatitis C and HIV antibodies
may cross-react with this assay. Negative < 9.0
Equivocal 9.0 - 10.9 Positive >10.9
EBV Ab VCA, IgG >600.0 High U/mL 0.0 - 17.9 01
Negative <18.0
Equivocal 18.0 - 21.9
Positive >21.9
EBV Nuclear Antigen Ab, IgG >600.0 High U/mL 0.0 - 17.9 01
Negative <18.0
Equivocal 18.0 - 21.9
Positive >21.9

Also here are my CD57 test results:

HNK1 (CD57) Panel
% CD8-/CD57+ Lymphs 8.4 % 2.0 - 17.0 01
Abs.CD8-CD57+ Lymphs 109/uL 60 - 360

Thank you.

Chronic lyme can make any kind of other infection on board more active. Lyme just wears the immune system down, flips it on its head in some odd ways so some dormant infections can bounce back up.

And, for a "new to you" first time infection of anything else, having lyme on board can also make that much harder on you.

I see you just posted in "seeking a LLMD" - they will know all about this. They should also test you for other tick borne infections.

In the meantime, as it may take a while to get into a LLMD, you might consider some herbal approach that covers various bases. See links below.

None of these will be "enough" alone but - just to tide you over and help relieve some symptoms while you wait for LLMD appointment, some choices to consider:

BERBERINE – LINKS SET

OLIVE LEAF EXTRACT – LINKS

Google for the website for "Harrod BUHNER" he has great detail on herbs. Get all his books about lyme and also those on lyme coinfections (two different books just for the coinfections).

Amazon carries books, too.

He is a top LL herbalist and even if you don't "do" herbs, his books have very valuable detail about how lyme works, and all the other various infections that can go with it or pop up with it.

Good luck

Also key support parts of any protocol - and using prior to appointment can also help in various ways. Lyme often causes magnesium deficits. And that can cause so many symptoms. Here's how to work with that:

Topic: MAGNESIUM - Informational Links set

Infections cause inflammation. The antioxidants in liver support items can help reduce inflammation and also help in other various ways, although many of the herbs listed in the group above also have some liver support to their nature.

MILK THISTLE is the primo liver support for starters as you take time to read over:

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

One more. As EBV, lyme and all that goes with either / both of those can really clobber energy levels, it's vital to have adrenal support on board.

CORDYCEPS is where I suggest starting while you work your way through this. Buhner's books have excellent detail on Cordyceps, by the way.

It might be prudent to check other viral loads as well, e.g. hhv-6, coxsackie a & b, cytomegalovirus, etc.

Duncan raises important point:

"It might be prudent to check other viral loads as well, e.g. hhv-6, coxsackie a & b, cytomegalovirus, etc." (end quote)

HHV-6 can be part of what's going on with your mouth burning.

Most LLMDs will do this but be sure to keep it in mind. Some with lyme and viruses do well with some antiviral Rx (such as Valtrex), or some antiviral herbs.

-----------

TF has given you excellent detail in your posts in "seeking a LLMD" -- so glad she offered such detail.

I agree with her.

Added thoughts to help you right now:

The MAGNESIUM should help some of the symptoms with the "My eyes jerk with my pulse, and I am now getting floaters." Some of the liver support / antioxidants can also help floaters.

For the "burning tongue and mouth"

SEA BUCKTHORN OIL - from a dropper - a good organic source to keep your mouth moist with that oil sure helped me. What you might have on hand for right now: coconut oil

Question your toothpaste - stop if it has SLS in it. More detail:

You mention run-a-way anxiety. Sorry, big time. That does go with lyme. Liver support & Magnesium can help.

So can Hawthorn - also very calming to the heart and for the eye jerking.

While you say you just switched from Prozac due to ill effects to wellbutrin, I don't know about also taking this with that (a naturopathic doctor would know). Just also be aware that this can be a wonderful helper to calm anxiety. Sure was for me. None of those anxiety drugs worked at all for me (had the opposite reaction of what was expected).

Just know there are other ways to approach symptoms even while waiting for LLMD appointment. Many LLMDs will know about some of this this, too.

http://oneearthherbs.squarespace.com/important-herbs/scullcap-skullcap-scutellaria-laterifolia.html

Skullcap

Your closest natural foods store will carry various kinds of magnesium and likely one or two good brands of skullcap tincture. Herb Pharm or Gaia herbs both good.

This is a different kind of skullcap than that Buhner mentions. For anxiety, sleep, you need this kind, though.

HERB PHARM is one excellent brand. It's also in many natural foods markets. Their website offers an alcohol free one, too.

GAIA herbs also good.
