- When they could give more detail it was regular price. Then then could not give as much detail and the price went down. Now, as I understand it, they can give more detail again so the price has just gone back to normal. -

That's too bad - I think they should make it more accessible for people. 99 is easier than 199 for many. The genetic results are really worth knowing about. Geneticgenie interprets the results for free or by donation, so no extra 100 there for interp.

i read on another site it has to do with getting FDA approval...i wonder if insurance will pay now?

The FDA was chasing them before and now they got them off their back, so they upped the price. Maybe they're recouping all the legal fees.

- It's not so much they "upped" the price but just ended the temporary discount price. I would imagine they have staff (who have families to support) to pay for their work - and equipment to maintain, lights to keep going, etc.
It is hard anytime a sale price ends, especially for those who have been so financially clobbered as those with chronic illness, though. -

They're giving out more information now. I wish I had known price was doubling because I wanted to get a couple kids tested. You can get the analysis from other websites, the one that 23andme just isn't worth $100.
