I took what I consider to be my first step down the road to lyme diagnosis and took a CD57 test. The results came back at 23, which I amtold is very low. I need advise on what to do next and what I can expect. I am still a bit skeptical why my regular Dr missed the diagnosis.
It should be mentioned that 5 years ago I was diagnosed with MS, so if it is a treatable infection, I am all in!

Yep, that's very low, and that number is common with Lyme disease. As to what to do next, please go to "seeking" and/or contact your local lyme disease support group to find a LLMD (Lyme literate MD).
Regular doctors miss Lyme all the time. Happened to most of us too.

Seconding what WPinVA is saying - a low CD57 count is uniquely corroborative of Lyme disease. Lyme disease is misdiagnosed most of the time. You will need to see a Lyme-treating doctor, who knows how to recognize and treat Lyme and co-infections.
Conversely, one can have a higher CD57 count and still have Lyme. Mine was 146, the last time I checked. I spoke with the originator of the test, who confirmed low means Lyme and high doesn't rule out Lyme, just as a higher CD4 count could still mean someone has AIDS.

I have been wondering what mine is lately...but I'm not sure it's worth testing for curiosity. When I was first tested new to Lyme, it was 14!
Lyme is no picnic, but as you said, it may actually be good news to find that you have something treatable. And it's always good to know what you are dealing with.
