The free online Heal Your Gut summit is going on now, so I don't know if you would be interested in watching any of it, re discussions of h pylori, celiac, etc. It has a lot of info for how to get a healthier gut, which is where a lot of good health starts in the body.

- Don't count on the test being able to detect celiac. It may but it also may not be able to do so. A genetic test would be best if this does not detect it.
Unless you loaded up on at least 2 pieces of bread a day for several weeks prior to the test, it can miss it. Same with a stomach biopsy. Such snips just aren't as accurate as we might wish.
The endoscopy totally missed celiac for me (maybe because even by then I had cut back on gluten but it's not the best test). Years later, two different genetic tests were positive, no question at all. Then it all made sense.
Still, even if not celiac, gluten can still cause all kinds of gut - and brain - issues. Even non-celiac "gluten ataxia". There's a lot to consider.
Hope the inflammation subsides. -

Thanks, I do have both genes.I really only asked for the biopsy because I was lying there and I remembered it. It wouldn't change my commitment to being gluten free either way.
It was six in the morning and I had to get up to drink my lovely cocktail three hours earlier, so I didn't even reaiize what the guy was talking about when he said he thought I was getting scoped for "anemia."
Ah, the good old days when my only problem was "mild iron deficiency anemia..."
