My LLMD suggested we take 3 weeks off Ceftin as a pulse therapy. After 2 weeks off, I started getting muscle pain in my legs and back after being pain free for about 6 months. Is the pain likely because the lyme bacteria came out of hiding again while off the antibiotic? Thanks!

Sounds like a big possibility. Three weeks off is a long time.

Thanks Lymetoo. Do many people pulse? My LLMD says pulsing can be good because the bacteria have a way of hiding when constantly on antibiotics and the pulsing brings them out before killing them again.

Two of the best lyme dr.s in the country have gravitated to pulsing with different antibiotics. They seem to be having success.

Good info. Sounds like pulsing is a smart option. Thanks.

Pulsing is what my LLMD did with me and I had the same results. Borrelia has evolved to change it's form, adapt to an individual's immune system and even change it's DNA to adapt to different environments.

Teasel tincture helped me with muscle pain when pulsing. Additionally did (& still do) trace mineral drops in H2O, Nettle and Chlorella. Also may want to just make sure you're getting enough magnesium which can have an affect on the muscles.

All the best to you, hope you find some relief.

I've been pulsing tetra/cipro/plaq for 2 wks ON and 2 wks OFF since last Thanksgiving. I just started an ON cycle last Monday. I also pulse my Buhner herbs at same cycle.

Sx are becoming predictable. I see my LLMD in two weeks to see if we should continue or change to alternating months.
