I have had chronic diarrhea since the hospital 2

weeks ago. My stomach feels like it is flip

flopping all day long. They gave me 3 doses of iv

steroids of solu medrol. I'm not sure if that did

it, that's why I'm asking. What should and can I

do for relief? Everything I eat just runs right

through me as soon as I'm done eating I'm running

[toilet] to the toilet. Please help.

Go to the drug store and buy some s.boulardii .. known as Florastor. I would also buy some other probiotics to add to that.

Watch your diet: no sugar, no fruit, no starches until you improve.

Steroids will accelerate candida (yeast) overgrowth in the gut.

Ok. I will start there. I have probiotics at home, I'll send my hubby to the health store for the florastor. I have been eating a lot of fruit and veggies lately that could also have something to do with it. I'll cut out fruit. Thanks for the quick reply.

I agree. If it doesn't slow down in a couple days get checked for c. diff. C. diff lives at the hospital.

So sorry, sounds like you've been having a really rough time (looking at your other posts as well).

Just know you're not alone. Many of us here have similar nightmare stories of our own to tell. It's infuriating how so many in the medical profession remain ignorant about tick-borne infections. We're left struggling physically, mentally, emotionally. Then on top of it we're left to find our own solutions to such a complex array of symptoms.

For the diarrhea, do take care with your diet and be sure you're hydrating. Beyond probiotics, charcoal capsules work well for diarrhea by binding to toxins and 'bad bacteria' that can cause the gut imbalances.

Another option that has worked wonders for me is Cinnamon Bark. Making a cup of tea with teaspoon of dried Cinnamon Bark (can get in bulk herbs at health food stores or order from MountainRoseHerbs.com) is a great digestive aid, antispasmodic and antifungal. Good for intestinal cramping, pain, diarrhea and more.

All the best to you and hope you find some relief - as well as answers/solutions that will work best for you and your healing.

No was going to be tested for c diff at the hospital and was released before they could get a sample. I feel as if my stomach is empty all the time and gurgling. Called My dr. This morning to get in asap. Thanks for all the replies. Took the pro and pre biotics this morning and last night doesn't seem to be helping with any relief. It has firmed up a little but my stomach is still growling no cramping anymore just feels empty.

Definitely try Florastor. Grocery stores carry it with the other probiotics. It's about $20.00. Have had diarrhea for a long time, tried many probiotics and got some relief with Jarrow Jarrodolphilus. Finally bought Florastor which works like a charm.
