Has anyone tried Wobenzym N or transfer factor for inflammation, headache, etc? I wonder which would be better? I read they both seem to have similiar effects to regulating the immune system, lowering inflammation. I need to decide which to try. [Smile]

Thinking curcumin, teasel...,for inflammation
lumbrokinase, serrapeptase works well as enzyme therapy to mop up...
Havent tried transferfactors but my understanding is its like homeopathy. May have dairy.
wobenzyme was good but didnt relieve headache ...peppermint oil and venex cream on neck helped

Wobenzym did wonders for my body pain and severe headaches.
I ramped up to 10 tablets daily on an empty stomach, and no longer woke up every day with a splitting headache.

When I first googled for info about Wobenzym, I saw accounts from physicians in Europe who prescribed 30 tablets at a time, to "force the therapeutic response."

Transfer factor did nothing for me, much to my disappointment. In fact, I felt worse.

However, I found that Berberine reduced inflammation, joint pain, and headaches also.
I've noticed that if I stop the Wobenzym or Berberine, that the headaches begin to come back.

I tried wobenzyme but it gave me migraines.

Transfer Factor made me feel worse too.

I am very sensitive and prone to migraines, so my response to wobenzyme is probably unusual.

A product I *love* for inflammation is called Unflame. My LLMD turned me on to it. I take 1/3 capsule on alternate days.

Hubby takes it for his hip inflammation and says it is amazing.

Carol,
Transfer Factor will make you feel worse if you are TH1 dominant. TF works to modulate TH2 responses and help balance between TH1 and TH2. If you are TH1 dominant, TF make may you feel worse, best to do all the immune and Cytokine testing first.

Dal123,
If I am TH1 dominant, are there any of the Transfer Factors that could help me feel better?

Some people have had wonderful responses from particular Transfer Factors, but I have no idea what to try now.
I used a general one, not Lyme specific.

Kaseyyy,
If you're going to try Wobenzym, be sure to ramp up your daily dose to a level high enough to be effective.

Some people only take two or three tablets and don't see anything happen, and give up too early.

I also noticed that pharmaceutical quality fish oil, with very high EPA, helped to reduce headache/migraine.
I've tried numerous things over the years.
Wobenzym and Berberine are good.

Carol, i'm going to get my atlas checked out for spinal misalignments. I always develop an annoying tension headache basically every single day. I don't remember how it all started (years ago) so i am unsure if i have ndph, chronic headache, or if i have medication overuse headache since it always seems to be there? Or the feeling of it coming on anyway. I have gone a while withoit otc but then sometimes i give in.

So, everyone seems to say wobenzym is great for joints. What if a headache is not caused by inflammation in the body. Will Wobenzym still help headaches? When nerve receptors signal for pain, does this itself also cause inflammation? Really confused, thank you for your input. Just want to understand it and what can work.

I also read about dmso and msm.. The first you apply to your skin and i read somewhere it gets rid of any pain and you taste garlic in your mouth? I don't know though. What about petadolex (butterbur) for tension headaches can this work too?

Anyone know how long it can take after stopping otc nsaids / excedrin to know what you have isnt rebound headaches?

I contacted Wobenzym and she said "Hi Kasey,

It can certainly not harm. As Wobenzym is a food supplement I cannot recommend it for either headaches or inflammation [Wink] "

..what? I read it was for inflammation and helps regulate the immune system. Okay then.

I'd say try Wobenzym and see what it does for you.
The same with Butterbur.

I was told by an experienced neurologist that my severe migraines were rebound headaches.
They weren't, and she was mistaken.

My neuro (before I fired him for putting me on Topomax) told me to immediately stop Petadolex/butterbur (though he originally put me on it 3 years ago) because it is linked to liver failure, or some other organ failure.

They sent me some studies on this, but I can't find them now. They told me they're now not recommending Butterburr to any of their patients and making sure all their patients stop taking it.

Please be careful if you decide to take it!

I read you need to get a specific petadolex that does not harm the liver. i forget what it is called.. petadolex active something

Carol, did you order garden of life wobenzym or mucos pharma? It is weird because I read they are the exact same and that the mucos pharma one got discontinued. but on amazon, the garden of life price for 800 is $99 while mucos pharma one is 200...

is one more effective?

Keseyyy,
When Garden of Life first distributed Mucos Wobenzym, I was shocked to find that it didn't seem to be reducing my headache and body pain as well.

The company says the active ingredients are the same, so I don't know why I had problems at first with the new stuff.

I made the extra effort to find the older formulation for a while, but then it got way too expensive.
I eventually switched by ramping up again with the new kind, which seemed to help me adjust.

Go ahead and start with the Garden of Life brand, and ramp up until you see some results.

I'm glad paleogal commented on the Butterbur, as I had not looked it up recently.
I tried it several years ago, but it didn't seem to help.
