Hi folks:
I've been posting a lot lately the past 10 weeks after I've had my relapse of sorts. It started in December while I was on Rifampin and Doxy. Had a few moments of being off balance and woozy. Stopped drugs on 12/21 and by 12/26 was considerably worse.
Since then I've been struggling to pinpoint exactly what is wrong. I've had a lot of head/neck symptoms and pressure sensations in my skull / muscles of my head along with a foggy/detached feeling that comes / goes. This on top of frequent hot flashes and sweats.
Nothing seems to have helped thus far. I restarted Mino/Rifampin in early January and had days where I was ok, but not consistently.
Anyway, LLMD thinks this could be protomyxzoa or potentially Babesia (or Bart / Brucella). Because of this, I'm on Ivermectin 3mg 2x / day and started Liposomal Artemisinin 1.5 weeks ago.
I'm supposed to ramp up the Liposomal Artemisinin from 1 pill / day to 4 pills / day, increasing by one pill per week.
Friday, I upped the dose to 1 pill 2x / day. Monday I had moments of feeling off with increased wooziness, etc.
Then yesterday all hell broke loose. In the morning I had a lot of flu-like malaise and nausea and by evening I had a fever of 101, nausea, fatigue, aches, pains, etc. It is better now, but I'm still not back to my "normal" baseline.
I'm hoping this is a good sign that Babesia or Proto is to blame. What's funny is I had almost the same reaction to Liposomal Art back in 2013...almost to the day of when I was ramping up to 2 pills / day. See here http://flash.lymenet.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/1/124100
I'm hoping this is a good sign and a major clue.
Of course, I'm also hoping that I just didn't have the stomach bug. A few in my family had the stomach bug the past week. Except when they had it they had no fever and had a lot of vomiting.
I had a fever, and was nauseous with a lot of reflux / burping, but no vomiting. Although I did have a small amount of diarheaa on top of sweats, aches, pains, etc. It seems my flare last night was worse than what they went through.
So..fingers crossing this is a clue I have been waiting for (and not just the stomach bug.)
Thoughts?

I hope it was a flare for your sake! I had no reaction at all to liposomal art and was on 2 per day for almost a year (except for pulsing). So it is interesting that it has affected you like this. Perhaps you are on to something! Good luck and I do hope you feel better either way.

I hope it is a good sign too! Wish I could tell if this was stomach bug but I don't think so

Maybe the liposmal art busted through some biofilm and released a stomach flu bug (there is one going around). The ART practitioner may be able to tell you more.

Thanks Catgirl. I'm not sure if this is a stomach bug.
Can diarrhea be part of a herx?
Maybe it just is a bug, but it seems to be a strong reaction with fever whereas the rest of my family only had cramps and vomiting. no fever, etc.
I still have a low grade fever now.

I don't think diarrhea is part of a herx. I had a flu bug about a month ago with a mild fever too. Since biofilm busters open the doors, the artemsinin is probably hitting babs/proto too.

You could be right but several resources I've read say it could be a herx. Here is an example

Wow, I'm surprised it could be related to a herx. Your doc/ART practitioner will know for sure.

Well, it seems I may have spoken too soon. I think it may have just been stomach flu as now my daughter has it too.
Sigh.
