I probably contracted lyme in the late 1960s (no dx until 2011). I'm pretty sure I have passed it to my daughter although she tested negative on Igenex.
My daughter has a toddler that wouldn't even eat food until well after the age of 1, and then with great difficulty. He is 27 months old and while his eating has greatly improved, he still gags and chokes on food sometimes.
I bring this up because I had swallowing issues when I most likely had lyme as an elementary schooler.
The baby was kind of a "grumpy", difficult baby until late last summer. He has become very sweet and pleasant. While he has never looked like he has missed a meal, he is maybe 20% for height.
I'm wondering if he should be tested for lyme. However, I am not sure about testing if lyme does not appear to be active.
If he was to be tested, would the Advanced Lab blood culture be worthwhile or does the infection have to be in an active stage?
Myself, I went 40 years with what many would call inactive lyme. In retrospect, I know it was there with bouts of air hunger and low grade fevers lasting months, and certainly some anxiety and emotional issues (all gone with treatment) that I don't want these kids to suffer.

The culture is kind of irrefutable.
It doesnt seem like there's any point in looking at antibody tests especially if the child is asymptomatic - if it's negative, what will you have discovered? That he doesn't have Lyme? Nope.
If you're concerned and can afford it, why not?

you know, I posted a video here of a conference given by a physician of Paracelsus clinic.
The doctor said there was a study in the area I live, involving both Germany and Switzerland, with local inhabitants of the countryside (not cities).
He said that about 90% were WESTERNBLOT POSITIVE!!!
The problem, he said: no one was sick with lyme. They were fully active people (children, adults, old age farmers). Zero symptoms.
The doctor said: these healthy people have a positive westernblot, the same exam that allows patients in the USA to get a full course of antibiotics!
He was lecturing also to Americans.
I could be today positive (I was positive only once, during lyme). The rest of the time I received lyme treatment, I was negative through Westernblot.
Go figure....
Where I want to reach: whether you are positive or negative, how do we know we need treatment or not?
The point of the Paracelsius doctor: everyone may be positive for Borrelia, but only a minority get the disease. A tiny minority go chronic. So, he says, you got to treat the whole body to make the immune system work.
A working immune system can beat lyme easily. A broken immune system cannot get rid of lyme, candida, chlamydia, mycoplasma, tuberculosis, etc. Treat the immune system!
the doctor said he receives all these American patients after massive doses of antibiotics. Some can't even walk or talk anymore.
They are a wreck. And he has to build their whole gut, their whole immune system. For him, it's clear: not a single drop of antibiotic more.
My daughter caught lyme at the age of 2: tick bite on the head. Arthritis, encephalitis, all the hell...
She was born fussy, with stomach problems, digestion problems, allergies, tummy pains, very thin etc. But she developed fine until the tick bite, but then, fully symptomatic.
I had no doubt she had lyme, nor her doctors (her knee doubled of size).
So today, after all these years, I would NEVER destroy the immune system of a child with antibiotics.
If you want to treat a symptomless child, treat with herbs, homeopathy, energy medicine. Rebuild its flora, its immune system.
Don't start with antibiotics on a child that still has no clear lyme symptom.
Even with clear lyme symptoms, antibiotic is so bad for their guts. If you think that most of immunity is in the gut, don't destroy it: build it!! Give the gut life, not death.
short term, why not? But middle, long term, what right do we have to destroy our children's guts, specially if they are symptomless?
My daughter is long without lyme, but we are still trying to fix her gut.
We are still fighting a food allergy here and there, she still has tummy pains with certain foods, she still had problems of mineral absorption (like her nails not growing etc). The gut takes years to fix.
Just google osteoporosis for children. It's amazing what's happening today, just because our bodies, digestion, etc is not working anymore. If you treat, treat natural. That's mother's heart speaking!
what I do today for myself and daughter: I do energy tests for pathogens. That is not invasive, and it's pretty accurate, I find.
I can test pathogens and medicine for it. You can go to many practicioners who do EAV, Bioresonance, whatever. That is what I would do to a child. It costs very little, and my lyme doc uses that too (as well as sooo many practitioners here in Germany/ switerzeland).

As a Mom I would check this out if he were my child, given that you had Lyme and passed it on to your daughter. I agree with you a 100% that I don't want anyone to suffer either!!
PM me and let me know what state your daughter is in, so I can send her info for LLMDs who treat children.
