50mg benadryl is no longer working to get me to sleep so I just upped it to 75mg last nite. Don't know if I'm going to have to keep upping benadryl. At least each amount level lasts for some years.
So I'd like to know if LDN is helping anyone to get to sleep here, and if so, how much you take.
I can't take melatonin, 5-HTP or tryptophan - all give me a headache - might have something to do with being a difficult detoxer.
I can't take an Epsom salt bath before bedtime since my joints are not stable enough to do tub anything.
If I don't do anything, I'm on a 32-hour day - I've clocked it.
Anything else that any of you do to get yourself to sleep?

- Andrographis works great for me. And it has several functions. One property is that it is sedative in nature.
So, while it helps me sleep, it's also protective of my liver and also has some antimicrobial action.
See thread below to help determine if this might be right for your body. Some don't do well with it, however, it's been wonderful for me. It's just that with its sedative nature, I keep it for evening and bedtime use. -

Herbal Antibiotic Alternatives By Pina LoGiudice, ND, LAc
Excerpt:
. . . Andrographis paniculata: This Asian herb with thousands of years of traditional use is now being proven through modern research as being able to disrupt the quorum-sensing system of bacteria.
This system helps bacteria attach to each other and thrive as a community. Andrographis basically helps break up the bacterial “party.”
As a result, it is beneficial to treat symptoms of upper respiratory tract infections and sinus problems. Numerous studies report its ability to reduce upper respiratory infection symptoms, such as fatigue, sore throat, cough and headache. . . .

Thanks, Keebler - I guess we never know till we try something. I always do a very low dose of anything new in the beginning.
Does andrographis make you tired just in the evening or are you tired during the day from it? I don't want anything to make me sleepy during the day - I need my alert days!
Just inquiring about LDN, haven't tried it. I've heard it works for about half of those who try it.

- The first week, andrographis may make you tired during the day but, then, I took it 4 x a day. I did not take it FOR sleep but found out that I sleep better with it and that first week 4x day I needed to sleep all day. Likely also part of a herx and being so very ill.
If you are using it merely for its sedative nature (while it also has other excellent properties) and if you take one in evening at first, likely the next day -- or after the first couple days - you'll not feel it at all.
Be sure to read the links set. -
