Dr Neil Spector, an oncologist [cancer specialist] who had to have a heart transplant due to undiagnosed Lyme, has underlined the importance of Dr Alan MacDonald's recent work linking Borrelia with brain tumours in an interview in the Huffington Post.
Referring to Dr MacDonald's research showing Borrelia DNA in Glioblastoma, a highly malignant brain tumour, Dr Spector described the findings as interesting and said:
" There should be money available to do this research to determine the link, and if it is determined to be the cause, then as with H. Pylori, we should be treating aggressively with anti-borrelia treatment."
He also called attention to the Borrelia-Alzheimer's link and the importance of cystic forms as a defence mechanism of the microbe.
