I had an oxidative stress test done and got my results earlier this week. One key result was that I am low in glutathione. I did sole research on how to raise levels and came across this new probiotic bacteria -- lactobacillus fermentum -- that supposedly makes glutathione. Looks like it just came on the market last year and I couldn't find many reviews on it. Has anyone had experience with it?
They sell it at While Foods so I'm going to try it anyway but thought I'd check with the board. Thanks. (Link below)

- It sounds like a gimmick. Oh, the product may well be fine. This just seems like a marketing hook.
However, ANY liver support herb will also help the liver be able to better make glutathione. Milk Thistle, Dandelion, etc.
And avoiding acetaminophen is key to also having the liver able to make glutathione and also having the cells be able to take it up.
There can be some Rx that are hard on the liver and can suppress the liver's ability to make glutathione / use it / or transfer to other cells in body.
And, any good probiotic also helps the liver in various ways, though other liver support is also best. Anything that helps the liver will, in turn, result in better glutathione production of the liver.
Anything that helps the gut will also help the liver. When the gut is in distress, the liver is much more taxed.
Oh, we need good probiotics, I'm not saying we don't. We need a VARIETY of them, and as many from foods as possible. -

- Note that their sources go back to 1979. Nothing "new" about this other than that the term "new" has been used before as a gimmick to market a brand of yogurt a couple years ago (not sure what kind of probiotic they claimed was so special only to them, but it turns out there was nothing new about that at all.
So, this is why I'm skeptical of their marketing techniques and to make the public think this is "unique" and "new" in their product when it may not be. This is not to say the product may not be good or that it may not work. Just that it seems too slick.
The section in their webpage that states: "Why You Need to Take a Glutathione Supplement" is deceptive, very much so. We don't need to so much take a glutathione supplement as much as do all we can to support the liver. The liver does the work here if we treat it right.
Lyme and other infections can also deplete glutathione. That's just one reason most LL doctors insist upon consistent liver & kidney "kindness" and support.
