So I took another zithromax yesterday. I woke up with the same headache but this time I was ready and it only lasted about an hour.

Thing is I'm not sure if I like the symptoms that are also unravelling with this new drug. I'm getting a little air hunger, not too bad, but also small, low levels of heart irregularity problems. I am hoping it's just a little herx, but I'm having occasional moments of my heart going thumpthumpthump, and then a second of dizziness, then a need to take a deep breath.

This is nowhere near the level of the heart symptoms I've read other people having, like POTS and massive tachycardia, etc. My heart rate is a little high but rarely over 100 and my blood pressure is "pre-hypertensive" without bp drugs.

Still wondering though when it's safe to continue and when to cry uncle.

This is my third week of much more aggressive abx. I can't say I've had much improvement, just lots of herxing.

But:

My neck was locked in spasm on my right side for about a year; that's gone.

My hair stopped falling out.

Better dexterity in my left hand.

Eyes are clearing up. Hardly any floaters, crystal clear in the morning, less ghosting.

Had tinnitus when herxing, much less now. Creepy muscle twitching and vibrating while herxing, much less. Less fasciculations, more muscle power and flexibility on my left side. I still have TMJ pain but not as often ( meaning; not constantly).

Can sit in a chair without shaking and have a conversation like a normal person for about a half an hour.

Less hand stiffness. I used to notice it when I typed, not as much anymore.

Still have muscle weakness, arm weakness, pain in my upper shoulders, neck problems of every flavor, twitching, full body tremor, shakes on waking sometimes, vibrating at night and when I wake up.

So not much change. But some.

Zithromax is known to cause heart symptoms. Speak to your LLMD right away.

Thanks Lymetoo. If I can't take macrolides I'm in trouble. I'm allergic to penicillin and keflex; that leaves me with the tetracyclines and the fluoroquinolones.

I hope it was a herx...
