I've heard that Doxy monohydrate is easier on the stomach and can be taken without food? Is that true? Is it just as effective as Hyclate or should I not risk it and stick with the "tried and true" original Doxy Hyclate? Thanks!

I'm not familiar with your terminology ... Are you talking about doxycycline vs doryx? I found the doryx to be much easier on the stomach. However, why spend the bucks if you do fine on doxycycline itself?

I found the monohydrate form (Monodox) much easier on the stomach, all other effects (including the nasty photosensitivity) were on par with doxy for me.
