I am sure I am battling a severe case of candida.

I am having bad reflux and need to do something.

I don't want to take a ppi i fear of making my yeast worse.

Any suggestions to help this reflux.

I am avoiding greasy foods,carbination,colas,coffee,cocoa,etc.

thank you

Low stomach acid is known to cause heartburn. So, maybe try supplementing Betaine HCL with meals.

I use Doctor's Best brand with Pepsin and Gentian Bitters.

Also, you could try some d-Limonene....it's known to help with heartburn. Just google it, or check some reviews about it for acid reflux.

The most economical d-Limonene product I have seen is from Jarrow.

Hope that helps.

Have you tried biotin and/or boron for the candida?

thank you folks for the replies.

Ive suspected low stomach acid and have looked into that.

Ive tried increasing the hcl doses, can't quite seem to ever feel that hot sensation you are suppose to get.

I still have some hcl, think I may try again.

I tried the baking soda test in the morning and that indicated low stomche acid, maybe I should try that test again.

Tried to get that string -pill acid test but could never get it.

I hadn't thought much about low stomach acid for a while but now I start thinking about that again, good reminder.

Don't know anything about biotin or boron, will be reading on it.

thank you again.

You say you are inclined to avoid PPIs due to yeast issues. It's good to also know other cautions with any PPI, common heartburn / reflux Rx / OTC products. Just in case you ever need to know more -- as well as suggestions for other ways:

Heartburn Can Be Treated Without Hazardous, Habit Forming Drugs

. . . Beware: PPIs Are NOT Advisable for Majority of Heartburn Cases . . . .

. . . Proton Pump Inhibitors . . . .

Also avoid PPI Rx [Proton Pump Inhibitors]. They have been directly linked as a contributing "set up" to c. diff.

PPIs also have other risks aside from this issue.

I take Bluebonnet Full Spectrum Optimum Enzymes with dinner or any heavy meal. It speeds up digestion so the food doesn't sit in your stomach too long, like it did for me. It's made a HUGE difference for me as far as reflux at night. Over time, my digestion has gotten better and I don't take them as regularly as I used to. Highly recommended.

thank you keebler and bam

Keebler you are a workhorse on here,I mean that in a good way.

I have bought DGL and enjoyed the taste.

Problem is I couldn't find one with out sugar or artificial sugars, the one I took had artificial sweeteners in it and they wreak havoc on me.

Seems you have found a natural one, will look into that,Thanks.

Started HCL today, one with breakfast, two with lunch,no burning so far.

Anyone know if you can take enzymes the same time as HCL ,wonder if the HCL will destroy the enzymes?

Bam I have been taking all kinds of enzymes, prescription and otc.

Creon and zen pep(cost something like 1400 bucks) and also otc enzymes that seem to work just as well for me.

They definitely help me digest but haven't helped with reflux.

Be interesting to see what the hcl does the next few days, guess it will be a good indicator weather the acid is high or low

Been in a bad flare, hope to start the cromolyn soon too.

Lymenet has been such a help over the years, thank you.
