Hello.

I know that there will be many suggestions, my guess is that whatever it is, I have tried it.

Let me know what you use for severe constipation, not mild. I feel like something is stuck in my small intestine.

I have tried -

OTC stuff - Miralax, Milk of magnesia.

natural - Magnesium, vitamin C, Cascara Sagrada, Chia seeds, enemas the list goes on.

I eat a modified version of the Wahls protocol, which is at least 6 cups of veggies a day. I don't eat any processed food.

Haley, Long time no see!

Nice greeting to come back with. Did you mean "hello"? Or is the situation that bad? Hope not!

I thankfully don't have that problem, b less your heart, so I can't advise on treatment, however, if you feel something is stuck you really should get it checked out.

Do you have other symptoms?

Try magnesium citrate. It's at the pharmacy, should be in the same place as enemas. If you can't find it, ask the pharmacist. It's strong stuff, but it sounds like you need that.

I thought I was the only one with this issue. Everyone I talk to goes to the bathroom like 4 times a day.

Wahl's is on the lower side of carbs so that is gonna slow motility. For a couple yrs I did no carb & it didn't matter if I took miralax, Vit C, Mag, & chugged castor oil at the same time.

The only thing that worked for me is adding some degree of carbs, even though it's counterproductive for this illness.

I'd also say that if enemas aren't even working, maybe try upping the amount of liquid. That also works for me.

Have you tried senna?

The Dr. Natura cleanse is also really good. It uses senna tea at night.

Mangosteen juice. I didn't know about that part of it when I started drinking it, and I drank a lot of it the first day!

Well, guess what happened? My Lyme eye symptoms of 25 years standing all cleared up in 24 hours, my sinuses ran for 48 hours even though I had no sinus symptoms, my intestines emptied for 72 hours and my system was on the constipated side, then my gums didn't bleed anymore after 96 hours!

So obviously, I have scaled back on the amount of mangosteen juice I drink daily - about an ounce now seems to work just fine for everything!

I drink the Mango-Xan version, as it's the most tart. We're all different when it comes to what works for us.

The only Mg supplement that had an effect on "my going" was Calm

it is a powder and if I take more than a piece of a teaspoon I **run**

I think it is Mg Citrate and it comes in a tall plastic tub (blue label) and it is a white powder, so easy to adjust dose

you dissolve it in hot water and it makes a fizzy drink

go slow if you try it

Thank you all. I do have "Calm" here. It can help, but still things are not working properly.

Shoeless, it is possible that there is something structurally wrong because any kind of stool is pencil thin - not normal.

Justdon - I eat about 3 to 6 cups of vegetables and 2 cups of fruit a day, I'm going to try more of higher fat diet.

I'm going to have it checked out.

Lots of fiber can cause the pencil thin stools. I used to get those often, too.

The Dr. Natura cleanse really helped me clean out my colon. It gets things moving and makes you release old stuff. The first time you do it is not pretty. I use it yearly now and it's never like that first time ... thank goodness!

I'll try that cleanse. I am planning on going to less fiber - that's interesting. I had not heard that high fiber can cause thin stools.

I also am going to once a month on a medicine that I think is contributing to the problem.

This is my last puzzle piece, thank you fellow detectives.

You're not the only one. I take a combo of stuff. If I forget, I don't go.

So, I take a lot of miralax and Metamucil (mixed together), fiber gummies (yum!!), and stool softener.

If it gets bad, I do magnesium citrate or an enema.

A former doc told me I need to go daily to get the die-off and toxins out.

Hi Haley...magnesium citrate is similar to milk of mag but a lot stronger. It's also stronger than senna, miralax, any kind of fiber supplements, and other OTC laxatives. If you're taking magnesium supplements, increasing those will help also. (That's why you'll often see magnesium combined with calcium supplements, bec calcium can be constipating, so mag helps counter that.)
