This article sites a CDC quote ( and has the link) that says guidelines were developed for surveillance purposes and not clinical diagnoses. It also gives info for a newbie.
" . . . The CDC states: “This surveillance case definition was developed for national reporting of Lyme disease; it is not intended to be used in clinical diagnosis.” (www.cdc.gov/nndss/conditions/lyme-disease/case-definition/2011/) . . . "

Yes! I think I got it. Is this what you want?
" . . . Lyme disease is diagnosed based on symptoms, physical findings (e.g., rash), and the possibility of exposure to infected ticks. Laboratory testing is helpful if used correctly and performed with validated methods . . ."

- me,
That's mighty good work. At the bottom of the last link you posted, this should also help to note:

Why thank you, Keebler and lpkayak! I do the research, I just forget most of it and have to learn it again. Then repeat. Thanks, Lyme and cos. Haha.
