So, my doctor changed up my meds, and I feel a whole new kind of herx, I think?? Or maybe a whole new kind of exhaustion?

I'm dazed, sounds are sharper and more vibrant (not sound sensitivity or tinnitus), sometimes objects almost have a hue around them (I'm not hallucinating). I'm also extremely calm and relaxed, which is nice. At times, I get dizzy and when I close my eyes, the room spins. I had an insanely sudden onset of major fatigue and had to lay down.

I've read the side effects on all the new meds, but I know that we (Lyme sufferers) sometimes experience side effects that aren't listed on the side effects facts.

The new meds are Bactrim, mepron, and artimisinim. I started them yesterday. Has anyone experienced these symptoms while on any of these meds? I also take doxy, Iv rocephin and cryptolepis, but I've been on those meds for a while.

How many days ago did you start the new meds? All on the same day?

Uuuggghhh. Now add major nausea to the list, and it's like food isn't being digested.

GINGER CAPSULES can help relieve nausea and dizziness. But it needs to be kept up at a therapeutic dose that only the capsules seem to provide. Although the tea can help a bit.

Take Ginger Capsules a couple hours away from Rx. It has some antioxidant properties and it may speed Rx through too fast if taken at the same time.

GINGER

LIVER & KIDNEY SUPPORT & and several HERXHEIMER support links, too.

With mepron, liver support has to be adjusted to be sure it's not too close in time to the Rx so you can reach a therapeutic level and not have liver support "wash" it way too quickly. But, somehow, liver support must still be on board.

It's really unusual to start 3 things at once. At least, I hope they are all at the lowest dose.

Best to start one thing at a time, low dose and see how you do before slightly edging up bit by bit.

Otherwise, it can be too harsh on your body. If, for some reason, there must be combinations from the start, still - low dose is best for starting.

Did you have liver support on board BEFORE starting the Rx? That is best, too. So your body is ready.

Good luck.

Hi Keebler, Thanks so much for your response. Yes, I do liver and kidney support. I do 1000 mg IV glutathione pushes daily and drink lots and lots of water, often with fresh-squeezed lemons. I get a CBC and CMP about every two weeks.

Glad to hear you've got glutathione. Sometimes, the pushes can be too fast and you might do better with a slower drip over an hour's time.

Be careful about "lots and lots of water" as too much can wash the Rx out of body too soon and you won't have a chance to reach the therapeutic dose.

Ask your LLMD for the amount best of you at this time.

With lemon water, citrus / food acids soften the enamel, so be sure to rinse mouth so the acid from lemon does not affect tooth enamel. Do not brush for 30 minutes after drinking lemon water so the enamel has to have time to harden up enough not to be brushed away.

Good luck with all this.

Good lord! I think my body would explode on on the meds you're on.

It sounds like you're hitting babesia really hard along with Lyme.

I haven't been on bactrim, but mepron might be causing those symptoms. I had those same symptoms when I had babesia.

Good luck.

Well, my stomach feels like it may explode out of my mouth right now, Judie. [puke] Bluelyme, thanks for the heads up. Keebler, thanks for the info about water and potassium levels. My potassium has been just barely low, so I will keep this in mind. I take it we are all having sleeping problems if we are on Lymenet at this hour!!??
