That's all I wanted to say. Whining is my analgesic these days (since nothing else works).

ha - yep I felt that green yesterday. The nausea and GI issues have gotten better, but I'm left with a migraine and other things like fever today. Baby steps!
Tincup - thanks for sending that link. It helped me confirm that what I'm feeling is definitely a herx. Sometimes I worry I just ate something bad, since that's what I used to think caused these symptoms. But no, started Alinia on Tues, so it is definitely a herx.
Thanks for the support, friends.

Pale said... "Sometimes I worry I just ate something bad..."
You'd think someone who has had horrendous herxes for over 30 years would recognize a herx when it hits, but nooooooo. I see it in others almost immediately, but me? HA!
Ding bat here wonders the same thing as you do. Usually only when it is over do I look back and say- "Oh, I didn't die, I guess it was a herx again."
You tell of thinking you may have eaten something bad.
Before we knew what herxes were and that they were associated with Lyme, I completely emptied my refrigerator and freezer at least 3 different times thinking something I was eating had to be what was making me sick.
That was hundreds of dollars worth of good food I tossed because nothing else made sense or could be found by the doctors as a reason.
Even now I have trouble telling. I have figured out when my eyes start to burn, feel really dry and ache really bad, that is an indication of herx reaction for me.
There are many other symptoms, of course, and pain like you wouldn't believe, but the eyes don't normally do the burning thing unless it is a herx.
So after three decades I am 1/100th's of a percent smarter than I was.

AAAHH the burning eyes! You're totally right! I have that right now. Like I close them and they feel on fire and I open them and they are totally dry. If I wiggle them back and forth they really hurt, too.
I'll have to keep an eye on that (har har - sigh. how can I laugh at this stuff). For the time being, things are calming down for me today - migraine is mostly gone. Thanks for the tip.
It's interesting to me that my immune system must have been doing some work without me realizing, if I was herxing before I even started treatment. Keep up the good work, immune system! Just please don't get too overzealous...

Pale and Blue- I hadn't seen your response here. Gotta laugh Pale! HA!
Funny that you both notice a burn in the eyes. I've never heard anyone say they did before. Thought it was just me. (My personal little sign.)
Anyhow... I was looking for the post I THINK Pale made or at least about the cat stuff.

Tincup - I just went back on Alinia this week and the burning eyes started again - woohoo a consistent (?) sign of herxing!
However, since I started this thread, I've been to see my LLMD and was put on a binder once a day - what a difference that has made.
Feels like the herx is trying to happen right now, but my body is managing it OK with the added help of the binder. Phew!
