Firstly....does anyone here get a strange type of hives that doesn't go away like regular hives, sometimes cracks open and oozes and takes a long time to disappear.
Seems to be worse in hot humid weather and with exercise. It's probably histamine intolerance. Do people think that Lyme or co-infections drives this histamine intolerance?
Also I am on my second week of doxy and these hives are worse. I was wondering if anyone else gets worse hives as a possible herxheimer...Thanks guys

Be very careful of allergic reactions to meds .. it can happen at any time.

Yes.....but something causes it...ya know? I did a search on lymenet and a link led me to blastocystis....and that this pathogen could cause leaky gut, hives...etc.
I looked up bismuth along with that pathogen name and sure enough that was part of the triple treatment for h pylori and/or Blastocystis.
It's also good for lyme.I was diagnosed with lymphocytic colitis and I was prescribed 2 weeks of 8 pills a day of pepto bismol and on the 11th day things got much better in the diarrhea dept and this lasted for about 3 weeks and now it's all back.
So...I am trying to connect all of this. As you all know, it's all so complicated!

Yes, there is a physical cause for the hives related to Lyme disease - maybe reactions to the borrelia? can't remember what it is -
