Does anyone know anything about or has anyone heard about benefits of alkaline water?
I've been reading about a Kangen water machine. Seems like some people cry "scam!" and other people say that it's helped them greatly. It claims to be the "best" alkaline water. I really don't know anything about it all though.
I just tested the pH of my water and it's pretty acidic. Maybe that's a piece of my healing puzzle that I'm missing...

We have been using alkaline water for several years now. We did get the Kangen water Machine.
Drinking the 9.5 water definitely helps with detoxing.
We've been happy with it and have friends who keep coming back for more of our water!
As a side note: A lady who had scleroderma (sp?) was at a Kangen water demonstration one evening. She said she couldn't drink water so late at night because her body doesn't absorb it. She'd be up all night going to the bathroom.
Well, she tried the water that night, and the next morning called the person selling the machines, saying "I want one! I wasn't up at all during the night to go to the bathroom!" So obviously her body was able to absorb the alkaline water.

Wow, that's really neat to hear MannaMe. Those machines are so expensive though. I wish I knew someone close who had one that I could try out.

Yes, definitely recommended by wholistic health folks.

Sorry to say, but I don't agree. I've been a health care practitioner for decades. Maybe it works for some, but the assumption that everyone should be more alkaline is completely incorrect. Some people are too alkaline----yes, really! And it's not uncommon either.
Plus, we are supposed to be acidic in some body compartments and alkaline in others, so it is not all one way or the other. It's far more complex than people realize. ANd no one is all one way or the other, nor should they be.

How would you tell if you were too alkaline Rumigirl? Something like saliva ph maybe???
I know distilled water is acidic but I've heard it's good for detox because it's so "empty". I do have a distiller but the water from it tastes funny. It might be the normal taste of distilled water, I dunno for sure, but it's weird.

There is more too it than just alkaline water - I'll have to ask my hubby - he's the one who learned more about the machine and what it does to the water.

Does anyone know anything more about how people figure out whether they should be drinking alkaline water or not?

One option would be "energy testing" from a health care professional skilled at that.
