Personally, I would take them all the time. You could lower the amount.
I have never stopped taking them in the past 16 years. (I DO skip days)

See I'd say no.
But that's because I used to work in the industry that analyzes the microbiome. It's a very young science. When people say that the gut is the second brain that might be true but we don't even know that much about the brain yet. The gut brain connection is even more mysterious. It's so mysterious that in my opinion it's a ripe field for anyone to string some words together to sell you fancy germs.
My LLMD prescribed VSL#3 which I'm taking with abx but if I wasn't on them, I wouldn't take them.

I think I'd take a minimal amount at least, maybe incorporating probiotic foods as a more natural probiotic source.
I've read about too many people with non-Lyme conditions who improved on just probiotics, so for my gut personally I think I'll be taking them for a long time no matter what.

PS .. The fluoroquinolones deplete a specific bacteria which helps digest oxalates. I can no longer digest them myself and that strain cannot be "purchased."

I am taking VSL 3 and Sacro B while on rocephin, flagyl, malarone and tetracycline. I have never been on so many ABX at once. I have noticed frequent and looser stools most days as a result of being on all these ABX, but I have no cramps, fever or watery diahrrea.
I wonder if I need a different probiotic than what I am taking. I also add kefir and kombucha tea to my diet in small doses.
