My LLMD told me about Japanese Knotweed for my Bartonella. She said preferably in tincture form starting slow with 3 drops.

How often is it safe to take? 3 drops in a beverage or ontop of tongue?

Thanks 💚

Not sure about the tincture, i prefer the powdered herb. But i take it 3 times a day (for the past 4 years or so). Buhner recommend pretty high dosages up to 4 times daily. I only take about 4 grams each time.

So yeah, start slow and see how you do. Its a pretty safe herb, though it can cause minor stomach upset when you take too much of it.

yep - buhner suggests Powdered root for Lyme - a lot of it - full dose is 30g a day (for a 150lb person)
usually split into 3 or more doses

but start with 1/4 or less of that and build up over a few weeks - it is generally well tolerated.
it's not like sida or other powerful anti-microbial herbs so strong herx symptoms would be unexpected - but go steady to begin with as everyone is different.

for Bartonella on its own, he uses it in lower doses - to help protect endothelial cells ( the ones lining your blood vessels ) as a part of a wider protocol with other herbs ( sida, Isatis, skullcap etc ) so tincture will be fine for that.

tinctures like this are usually taken in a small glass of water 15 or 20mins before meals.
a few drops on the tongue is tolerable - but 60% alcohol gets quite hard to tolerate one you are using a teaspoon ( 5ml) or more at a time.

for Bart with Lyme - use the Lyme dosage - as knotweed is specific for Lyme in large doses and you cant get rid of Bart without also getting rid of Lyme

the tincture can be used for Lyme also - doses are in the range 1/2 to 1 teaspoon 3-6x a day
so consumption will be rather high/expensive in tincture form unless you make your own

the recipe is 1:5 60% alcohol
